We’re looking forward to introducing you to Christian Garcia. Check out our conversation below.
Christian, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
Right now, I feel called to be so utterly myself that it disgusts me. In the past, I’ve been afraid of what people might think of me or I might have sacrificed myself for others. Now I just don’t care what people think of me. I’m only on this Earth to please me. I don’t care if that sounds selfish. I think I need to be.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Me, Christianontheinternet, is an indie pop project based in Denver, Colorado, blending heartfelt storytelling with infectious, danceable grooves. I create music that lives where introspection meets the dance floor. It’s honest, catchy, and unafraid to feel.
I draw lots of inspiration from disco, indie pop, and modern electronic music. My breakout single so to speak is, “Let’s Get Down to Business,” where it mixed shimmering synths, witty metaphors, and emotional clarity, turning relationship doubts into a dance anthem.
In 2025 and into 2026, I plan to expand my sonic world with “Business – DnB Remix,” a high-energy reimagining of the original that infuses drum and bass with the song’s disco roots. The remix marks the first release from my forthcoming project, The Business EP, arriving later this fall.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
A lot of my teachers saw me before I could see myself. In grade school, they would look at me like a poster child, as if I had a magical super power that no one else had and it always made me feel weird. I just wanted to be normal.
Anyway, I never made it into the gifted and talented class. Yet, I made it into this special group to write a poem for a new garden at the front of the school. This garden had a new home.
The teacher said, “Stop! Did you guys hear that? Repeat what you said to the group, Christian.”
That’s the first time I felt clearly seen because the teacher noticed I thought and spoke in metaphor. The garden had a new place to live. The teacher loved my thought process but my classmates didn’t understand it.
Whatever though! My poem about the garden titled, “The Welcoming Garden” would be published and I would recite the poem during the opening ceremony of the garden when I was just in 4th grade.
When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
Music, singing, and dancing.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
That you need a manger, label, and/or agent to be successful.
What’s great about the music industry right now is that your career is in your hands more than ever. You can create what you want, promote it how you want, and do what you want. There are no timelines, or limitations to what you art.
I think artists or musicians can find content creation frustrating but it’s not the end all, be all. It’s whatever you want it to be. Make it work for you instead of the other way around!
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What will you regret not doing?
Following my intuition.
