Story & Lesson Highlights with Christina Hoffeld of Greenwood Village

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Christina Hoffeld. Check out our conversation below.

Christina , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
The short answer is YES! I am a fun time, lol! Seriously, I have a great work ethic, high integrity, and am willing to learn. You don’t have to know everything to be good at something; you just have to be honest and willing to learn.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! My name is Christina Hoffeld, and I am your friendly neighborhood health insurance broker! I help individuals, families, and small businesses look at their health insurance options. My approach is a little different because I like to take a consultative approach with financial protection at the forefront. Christina, what the heck does this mean? This means I set appropriate expectations regarding coverage.. I talk my clients through what their options might be, and I change their mindset of having health insurance solely for seeing a specific provider. I want everyone to understand that health insurance is a tool to protect your ability to remain financially solvent should the unexpected happen.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
This is funny! For those who know me well, they love and appreciate my large personality. I do a lot of laughing and speaking my mind. I have always been kind, but sometimes honesty detracts from the impression of kindness.

There was a time when my personality was twenty times larger than it is now. I was 100% unencumbered, absolutely fearless, and feral, lol. I cared about people’s feelings, but not at the expense of honesty. There has been some maturation on my part, so I don’t say everything that comes to mind all of the time anymore. I have softened, like the world told me.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Do not make yourself small for anything or anyone! Being who you are, no matter what anyone says or thinks, is powerful. The right people will love you for who you are; they won’t want you to change or be less.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
I would say it is 97% me! I’m totally willing to meet people I do business with for happy hour. We can talk about sports, hobbies, life experiences, and personal stories. I am who I say I am, and my actions prove it.

However, the Christina who needs to let off steam isn’t necessarily appropriate for an office environment or business meetings, lol. The unadulterated version is up for just about anything, will always ask for forgiveness rather than permission, and believes in the full send! I like to say I’m an onion, and there are layers that can be pulled back!

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes! My best is not for anyone else but me! When we make our accomplishments about others, they become hollow. We chase the high of getting compliments and approval, and that can be fleeting!

When we stay true to ourselves and know that the only person we have to prove anything to is ourselves, our success becomes part of who we are, not something we are chasing.
