Story & Lesson Highlights with Eugene Ebner of Denver

We recently had the chance to connect with Eugene Ebner and have shared our conversation below.

Eugene, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
All three matter, but right now I am most drawn to the importance of energy. When we learn to ignite the energy from within, we awaken an inner compass that strengthens our intuition and guides us toward greater understanding. Energy helps us build awareness and choose growth, rather than staying trapped in the dysfunctional patterns imprinted by family systems or limiting societal beliefs. At our core, we are energy—and what we focus on not only shapes who we become, but also determines the people and opportunities we attract into our lives.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am deeply passionate about inspiring and encouraging men on their journeys of healing. From a young age, many of us are taught to suppress our emotions, harden our hearts, and carry silent burdens of shame and unworthiness. We inherit beliefs about masculinity that disconnect us from our bodies, our truth, and our wholeness. Too often, we also learn to shame our sexuality and pleasure, leaving us estranged from the very sources of vitality and joy that make us fully alive.

For queer men, this pain often runs even deeper. Many are forced to defend and justify their worth and existence in the face of ignorance and fear, layering another dimension of shame and silence on their experience.

That’s why I am launching INNR SPACES this October 2025 — a platform and collective to guide men to Unlearn, Unshame, Uncover, and Unleash. This is a space for all men — a place to remember our common threads while embracing the diversity of our sexualities, identities, and lived experiences. INNR SPACES invites us to bridge differences, celebrate authenticity, and meet one another with compassion, honesty, and courage.

Through podcasts, classes, workshops, and retreats with today’s leading coaches, teachers, and healers, INNR SPACES supports men in reconnecting with their wholeness, reclaiming their bodies and voices, and stepping into a life of power, freedom, and liberation in alignment with who they truly are.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me I’m releasing is the people-pleaser. As a child, I learned to put others first, to perform for validation, and to disconnect from my own needs and desires. My parents did the best they could with what they had, yet like many of us, I still absorbed the message that love and safety came through pleasing others. That part kept me safe for a time, but now it no longer serves me. My work with INNR SPACES is about reclaiming authenticity—not pleasing others, but living in power, freedom, and wholeness.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of unworthiness—shaped by shame and guilt—has held me back more than anything else. It silenced my voice and disconnected me from my own power. For the last five years, I’ve committed to healing, rewiring my nervous system, and reclaiming my truth. That process has not only transformed my life, it’s also the heartbeat of INNR SPACES: helping men move beyond shame and fear into lives of power, freedom, and liberation.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
There was a time when my public self wasn’t fully real. I hid behind images and stories I thought would make me lovable, chasing the validation I longed for as a child. I believed that if I looked successful enough, maybe I would finally be worthy. Over time, I realized I was repeating the same pattern I had seen in my father: performing for approval instead of living authentically. Now, I work intentionally to let my true self be seen. That alignment between the public and private is not only freeing—it’s also the foundation of INNR SPACES, where men are invited to shed performance and step into authenticity.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
There was a time when I lived out scripts written by others—seeking approval, following rules of masculinity, and performing for acceptance. But deep down, my soul knew I was meant for something more. INNR SPACES is the unfolding of that “more.” It feels like destiny, like the calling I was born to embody. I believe this is my legacy: helping men unlearn, unshame, uncover, and unleash the freedom and wholeness already within them.
