Story & Lesson Highlights with Roni Slavit of Wheat Ridge

We recently had the chance to connect with Roni Slavit and have shared our conversation below.

Roni, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
I would say integrity. To me, genuineness is invaluable—the ability to trust someone’s intentions and know they come from a pure place, not from taking advantage or exploiting others. In today’s world, it can be rare to find businesses truly rooted in integrity, which is why I make it a priority to ensure my own business reflects that, and I choose to support other businesses that do the same

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Roni — I’m a clinical herbalist, licensed esthetician, reiki practitioner and the founder of this botanical skincare line and spa. But before any of those titles, I was a girl searching for answers.

From the age of 13, I was navigating unexplained health issues that eventually led to the diagnosis of two autoimmune conditions. The journey was anything but straightforward — filled with dietary shifts, physical discomfort, hormonal imbalances, and deep emotional challenges. Through it all, I kept returning to the healing power of nature.

It was herbal medicine that truly began to shift everything. Through teas, tinctures, supplements, breath work, energy practices, and more, I started feeling like myself again. Grounded. Vital. Strong. Alive.

But the inflammation and stress in my body were showing up on my face too — painful acne, sensitivity, texture changes — and mainstream skincare only made it worse. As I dove deeper into both herbalism and esthetics, I started formulating my own blends, drawing on what had helped me heal internally. I wanted skincare that nourished like medicine, that supported the skin’s innate intelligence instead of overriding it.

After years of trial, testing, and deepening my practice, this line was born — a fusion of ancestral plant wisdom and clinical skin knowledge. Every serum, balm, and mask is handcrafted with potent, whole-plant ingredients to truly support the skin from the inside out. They’re infused with intention, energetic healing, and the belief that your skin deserves to be held in reverence — not fixed, not fought.

I realized I wanted my work to be more hands-on, which led me to pursue esthetics and deepen my knowledge of the skin. This path allows me to offer relaxing, therapeutic, and transformative services using both our products and other trusted lines. Creating a calming environment for my clients is essential to me—one where they can pause, rest, and receive a truly restorative experience.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
I would have to say my father. He taught me that you have to work hard in order to reach those goals you crave. That when you fail the first time it is important to get up and try again. He would be supportive and assure me that failure is part of the process and a true testament to how much you want that goal/dream to come true. I saw how hard he worked throughout his life to build the career and life he did and was always inspired by his dedication and integrity through it all.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Believe in yourself for you are truly your biggest cheerleader and the most important one at that. Another thing I would say to tag along to that is to celebrate the small things and always know that the tough days need to happen before the good comes in. It is all truly a test to how much you believe in yourself.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
Empowering my clients rather than taking advantage of them for a quick sale. I will never suggest a product just to make money, I will only make suggestions when needed and recommended for my clients skin or if it is to help them reach a goal they are desiring. I am truly here for my clients and to help them feel empowered within their own skin and can’t wait to see what impact this business I’ve been creating has in the world.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I would have to say when I am in the mountains. No matter what season it is I can confidently say that I feel the most at peace when I am surrounded by the trees and mountains. It is something about the crisp air, delicious smells, soft breeze and the feeling of the sun beating down that puts me in such a peaceful space. I hope to one day get to create my own mountain oasis home where I can grow my own herbs for the product line!
