Story & Lesson Highlights with Samantha Dawn of Denver

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Samantha Dawn. Check out our conversation below.

Samantha, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I would say myself. No one really sees behind the doors of the work I do to better myself for myself, my business, and my family. It’s not easy, but it’s well worth it.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a personal stylist and style coach for female leaders and CEOs. My background is actually in psychology, so I combine psychology and style to help women find and build their personal style. I also am a mom of two little boys who tries her best to balance motherhood and entrepreneurship.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
One thing that always stuck with me is when I was in elementary school and my dad taught me that “Not everyone will like you, some people don’t even like the Pope”. I remember at first, I was appalled that not everyone is at peace with each other, but I also was very young and naive in hindsight. It’s stuck with me through work that not everyone will like me or align with me and that’s okay – whether that’s peers, strangers, maybe even some friends along the way. The people who aren’t meant for me (clients, friends, peers, opportunities), let them go so I can make room for the ones who are. This truly has helped me be true to myself – thanks dad.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Listen to your gut feeling about what’s right for you. You are enough. Every decision that you make might not end in the “perfect” result, but nothing is actually perfect except for when you just say yes to yourself.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
Manifestation is real and the ones who also believe it might be able to articulate it better than me. Every thought I’ve dreamed of becoming a reality has manifested to be real in my life. If you truly believe it will happen and put in the work to make it happen, it will happen. I always have a hard time articulating this to people who don’t believe in it, but they’re also just the wrong people to be having that conversation with.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What will you regret not doing?
Not going all the way with my crazy ideas that aren’t actually crazy. They’re helping others and can change their lives. Anytime I am having a hard time to go through with something, I ask myself “Is it a disservice to the women that I want to help if I don’t do it?”
