Suzanne Simone shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Suzanne, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Integrity is the most important to me because it serves as the foundation for everything else. While intelligence and energy are valuable, they’re most effective when guided by strong principles. Integrity fosters trust, drives ethical decision-making, and ensures that intelligence and energy are used purposefully. In many ways, the three are interconnected—but without integrity, the others lose their direction.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Suzanne Dani’L Simone, the visionary behind Poshtography Professional Photography and Videography—a boutique studio renowned for creating bold, fashion-forward imagery since 2003. With a unique blend of generational expertise (my mother, a photographer of 40+ years, is both my mentor and creative partner), we specialize in luxury weddings and editorial boudoir, alongside high-end commercial, fashion, and branding work.
What defines Poshtography isn’t just our technical precision or vibrant style—it’s our ability to merge artistry with authenticity. Whether we’re capturing a bride’s most intimate moments or a brand’s campaign, we treat every frame with the same level of sophistication: think striking compositions, editorial flair, and a photojournalist’s eye for storytelling. Our clients don’t just receive images; they experience a seamless, collaborative process designed to highlight their individuality—or their product’s allure—with unmatched polish.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in two decades behind the lens, it’s that exceptional photography isn’t just about skill—it’s about passion refined into consistency. That’s the standard we bring to every project, and why discerning clients trust us to translate their vision into visuals that captivate.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
The world never had the chance to define me—I arrived as my own person, an artist in every sense, and I’ve carried that truth with me ever since. Creativity has always been my compass, guiding me with the unwavering belief that the sky is just the beginning and that anything is possible. I was born with a vision, a refusal to be confined, and an instinct to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. That’s who I was then, and it’s who I still am—unapologetically myself, limitless in ambition, and relentless in pursuit of what sets my soul on fire.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Every day as an artist—or really, in any pursuit—brings a moment where giving up whispers in your ear. But that’s not unique to creativity; it’s the universal test of perseverance. For me, the answer has never been about whether doubt exists, but about why I refuse to let it win. My ‘why’ is my work: the proof that what I create holds value. It’s not just about talent or vision—it’s about showing up, relentlessly, to prove that what I offer can’t be replicated. And that’s the difference between those who fade and those who leave a mark.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
I’m the same person whether I’m behind the camera, in a business meeting, or at home with family. Sure, I know when to turn up the professionalism dial, but the core person stays consistent. People appreciate that they’re getting the real deal – someone who’s serious about their profession but doesn’t take themselves too seriously. In this industry where so much is about perception, I’ve found that being authentically yourself actually becomes your competitive edge.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you tap dancing to work? Have you been that level of excited at any point in your career? If so, please tell us about those days.
As a literal tap dancer, I can confirm: yes, I’ve absolutely had those ‘dancing to work’ moments. There’s a magic to creating something that doesn’t just capture joy—it becomes joy. Like the weddings where the couple forgets I’m there because they’re so lost in each other, or the boudoir sessions where a client sees her proofs and suddenly stands taller. Or those electric fashion editorials where the model hits her stride, the team’s energy locks in, and the clothes stop being fabric—they become attitude, rebellion, a story waiting to stop hearts. Those days don’t feel like work; they feel like getting paid to bottle lightning. And that’s the secret—when you love what you do, you’re not just documenting moments, you’re amplifying them. The energy transfers. Clients don’t just get photos; they get proof of how powerful it is to feel seen—whether it’s in love, in skin, or in a killer look that’s about to set the page on fire.
