What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?

That I couldn’t do something. I spent a lot of childhood saying. ‘I can’t’, which I think is pretty common amongst children. Even into my early adulthood, I never really thought I’d have a huge career or be this enormous success. I believed that I wanted to be friends with everyone. I was the likable one. The one who could ‘handle’ anyone. That was really my fear speaking. I had a desire to be liked because being liked was being safe. This desire also meant that I never full expressed myself and I shrunk myself to be compatible with anyone. Read more>>

As someone who has been adopted, growing up I always felt the need to find a place to belong. To find a place where I felt accepted, to fit in!!!
