Today we’d like to introduce you to Lit and Lucid. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Lit & Lucid Podcast was started in 2018 with a desire to break stigmas around cannabis. Jarrod and Lucy are both business professionals and have an active lifestyle that incorporates cannabis consumption thoughtfully into their daily lives. We realized there was a need to share the stories of other successful consumers in order to help break down the stigmas associated with the “stoner” stereotype. After focusing on millennials in the first season, Lit & Lucid expanded into sharing stories about all business professionals, speaking with over 160 guests to date across the U.S. and Canada.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For the most part, podcasting has been a smooth road for us. We are self-taught on nearly all aspects of podcasting, including audio production, so that’s been fun to watch our personal growth since inception. Being creatives, we’ve also been able to use our creative freedom to update our logo, website and assets over the years, as well as work on show flow. We did spend some time in 2020 working with a podcast consulting company to provide us feedback on the execution of our show and audio production, and this tough work really helped take us to the next level.
We’ve always been really grateful to have consistent guest inquiries – speaking with high-level professionals in the industry that have helped bring listeners and increased interest in our show. Moving forward we are looking to the future of podcasting which may include video production which will of course include a learning curve to execute.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
The Lit & Lucid Podcast is focused on breaking stigmas around cannabis by having conversations with professionals in the industry all across the U.S. and Canada. Our conversations vary from the ups and downs of being in the industry, thoughts about various state and federal legalization efforts, consumer education and trends. The show is insightful because our guests always bring a unique perspective to the conversation allowing us to learn and grow with our listeners.
We are most proud of the guests we’ve had on the show, including Jim Belushi. I don’t think if you would have told us 4 years ago that we’d be speaking with Jim Belushi on our podcast we would have believed you. The conversation we had with Jim was very heartfelt and really hit home for us. It was truly an experience we’ll never forget.
Jim was a huge accomplishment, but to be honest, every conversation we have on our show is memorable and makes us proud. We enjoy connecting with our guests on a deeper level and always leave each episode feeling inspired, learning something new.
We’ve heard from our guests that the conversation is always very easygoing and personable which we believe sets us apart from other podcasts. You won’t find our conversations to be strained, in fact we hope it sounds like you are listening to old friends enjoying time with one another. We hope you sit back, relax and get cozy with the Lit & Lucid lifestyle…
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
For us, success is consistently putting in the work to share our guests’ stories. Every week for the last 4 years we have recorded with guests and produced a show that goes live every Thursday. Success isn’t listenership for us, it’s deeper than that. Each guest comes to us with a unique perspective and story that always leaves you feeling a genuine connection with a greater sense of purpose. Without our guests, Lit & Lucid wouldn’t be the show it is today, for that we’re very grateful, and that’s what makes the show a success.
