Leanna Organics’ came from founder Tracy’s love of natural beauty and wellness products, along with husband and co-owner Scott’s love of the hemp plant. So many self-care products on the market are super expensive and have chemicals and unhealthy elements in them. Leanna Organics came from a vision of affordable beauty and wellness products that are organic and free from toxic ingredients. We started officially in May of 2018. However, Tracy has been working on her artisan line of body creams and beauty products since 2013. The decision to add CBD to the mix in 2017 was a game-changer and led us to move to Colorado with our three kids to pursue our dream.
Leanna Organics is a family-owned and operated business. In addition to co-owners Tracy and Scott, their two oldest kids Mechlo and Tavia, contribute. We did tons of markets in the early days to introduce people to our products and spread our message of natural and holistic beauty and wellness. We still do many markets, but now we have a retail store at the Orchards Town Center in Westminster, CO., A home base where all products are made fresh daily in small batches with love and care.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting this business has been the most challenging thing we have ever done. However, it is rewarding. It feels good to hear people tell us how much our products and CBD have changed their lives, in-person and online. CBD is a natural and non-addictive alternative to opioids and benzodiazepines. In addition, because the skin is covered in cannabinoid receptors, it helps those with skin issues. Furthermore, the people who are interested in CBD are often concerned about pesticides and chemicals in their product; Leanna Organics makes natural products using organic ingredients. Our biggest obstacle is misperceptions about CBD. Despite the fact that hemp is a form of cannabis, it is non-intoxicating and safe. Companies like Facebook, Google, and Amazon have bizarre rules and policies surrounding CBD that we are still trying to figure out. Marketing a CBD business is not easy. Nevertheless, CBD and hemp seed products are sought after because they work. We have managed to carve out a little niche in the wellness and beauty market by offering organic products, top-notch customer service, and third-party tested high-quality CBD.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are proud of Leanna Organics because we are putting something beautiful out to the world. Not only with offering third-party tested CBD products that are both organic and affordable but because we give back. We donate monthly to the Nature Conservancy, which is a worldwide charity dedicated to protecting mother earth. We have also partnered with the CDPHE for their Environmental Leadership program in 2020, minimizing our carbon footprint and figuring out the most sustainable packaging.
In addition, we have a very popular blog that showcases some of the best writers in the wellness, beauty, and spirituality world. Our blog is dedicated to natural and holistic healing and wellness and aims to put our health back in our own hands by holistic means. We have written about Emotional Intelligence, Inner Child Healing, Meditation, Yoga, Energy Healing, and more!
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Mainly just to stay optimistic and count our blessings. The pandemic has put a squeeze on retail shopping. However, we have loyal customers that sometimes go out of their way to do business with us, and we are so appreciative.
