Today we’d like to introduce you to Chef Kent Cottle and Chef Emmy.
Chef Kent and Chef Emmy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After worldwide travel, working with many of the top chefs around the world, and working in Denver, and various mountain cities, we placed ourselves in Northern Colorado for the close proximity to the farms and ranches which nourish many elite restaurants in Denver, and nearby resort towns. We frequently visit with these farmers and ranchers and often find ourselves digging produce out of the earth right alongside them.
We set our business model on serving those who cannot help themselves and found some amazing non- profits such as; Realities for Children, Children’s hospital, Daniel the Lion day that aided us rightly in fulfilling that mission. We have also found ourselves assisting many great local artists; music, sculpting, performing arts, painting, etc.
Partnering with other startup businesses has allowed us to bring incredible products and services to our guests in our events and share these artistically crafted items with like-minded people who appreciate such talent. We are so grateful to have the backing and support of so many great artisans of the culinary world, farming community, and craft breweries and distilleries.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Since the beginning, our business model has been to serve those who are already making a difference in our society. Many people have said that our plan would never work by helping other people first. Our talents are not ours alone but to be shared with the world. This is why we have spent so much of our time, talent and money assisting Realities for Children, Fraternal Order of Police, International Association of Firefighters, Off the Hook Arts, to name a few. We have seen a great return in growth.
It has taken us four years of successful events to bring us to where we are now. All of our marketing is word-of-mouth, and we have had many friends and patrons come to our assistance by telling people about Z Catering and the hearts behind the business. One of our delights is the great response from the company of artisans and experts when we ask them to participate with us. We truly have a lot of fun in what we do. It is surprising to us that we are getting recognition now not only throughout the U.S. but in foreign countries as well.
Alright – so let’s talk business. What else should we know about your work?
We bring locally-sourced ingredients and craft them into any type of cuisine imaginable, from locally foraged flora to intricate molecular gastronomy. Each and every menu is custom-designed to every client. We perform most of our food live in front of guests on beautifully, engaging displays. We are pure passion with genuine care of people and a deep respect for our raw ingredients. We thrive at going into the realm of the impossible with our foods to create so much more than a meal, we perform an experience for your delight.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
We do not believe in luck. We believe in PEOPLE and PASSION. We believe in cultivating a serving mindset towards others. We believe in persistence – never giving up. And we believe in keeping our mission, dreams and goals on the forefront of our minds.
