Meet Crista Lash

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crista Lash.

Hi Crista, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am a free spirit, restless soul, earth lover, mystic. I’m struck by wanderlust, so you can often find me on a beach somewhere, road-tripping out west, in the mountains, or hopping yoga studios but I spend most of my time in a cute Colorado town just outside of Denver, in my vintage hippy house gazing at the mountain view or walking barefoot around my lush garden. I obsess over all things holistic wellness, I geek out on gardening & house plants, I practice yoga on a daily, I’m never without essential oils, I love animals, and I’m usually wearing PJ pants & fuzzy slippers.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
An unhealthy body, anxiety, depression, trouble sleeping, and recurrent ailments all play an important role in my never-ending journey towards peace & wellness. I garden because freshly-picked, organic, non-GMO veggies turn me on. I practice yoga & meditation regularly to improve my flexibility & posture, to up my energy level, calm my mind, and because I become more mindful with the practice. I use essential oils for immunity support, more restful sleep, and maintaining a high vibration. I eat plant-based foods because the healthful foods changed my life and I’m trying to avoid dad bod. <shrug> I use non-toxic products because toxic sh*t sucks. Treating myself is built into my routines and habits.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I recognize the incredible need for healthier lives and a healthier planet which is why I’ve long-time dreamed of helping others through a journey of peace & wellness, mindful practices, and sustainability. My dream is to build a positive, non-toxic community full of love & support.

I am currently teaching weekly yoga classes at a WellCare marketplace in Denver, Nurture. My classes blend a traditional vinyasa practice with an indulgent and restorative wind down to ease every muscle and quiet the mind. My goal is to honor the wisdom of traditional yoga practices & empower yogis to explore the wisdom of their body, mind, and spirit as they awaken their graceful warrior and claim their purpose in my classes.Teaching yoga feeds me on all levels: mentally, physically, and spiritually but my main motivation in teaching is the yogi, YOU. On & off the off-the-mat, my yoga teachings are meant to inspire & lead others.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I was introduced to yoga 15+ years ago but it was an on & off practice at first. It wasn’t until I met a real-life angel who encouraged me to practice more often that I introduced a regular practice into my life. At first, my yoga practice was mostly physical until I realized that in addition to my work-out, I was experiencing a work-in. The more I leaned in to my yoga practice, the more I got out of it: physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally. My practice has shifted from structured classes to include “yoga off the mat” – it has become a way of life for me. This evolution has felt a lot like falling in love: the first flush, the heat and the passion, and finally a knowing intimacy.
