Meet Tony Ciccone of Tony Ciccone Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tony Ciccone.

Thanks for sharing your story with us, Tony. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have always been an artist. In fact, at one time, I would paint huge oil and acrylic paintings. My artwork revolved around mountain and bridge silhouettes with a brilliant sunset as the backdrop. Life moved on and decided to incorporate my art and graphic design style into my film photography. At that time, I was doing product photography in the advertising world. Now jump ahead a few years…being an athlete and the love for the mechanics of the human body, I’ve combined both passions of mine into one. One thing to note, I have always been inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man since I was a kid. I truly think this is why I love the graceful mechanics of athletes.
Branding myself as a fitness and yoga photographer, I felt a need for strong people to inspire others. Not just for the beautiful aesthetics of the body, but for the mental strength. The persistence and so on. Also, I felt it could kick start people who are struggling in their health and fitness journey.
Now here I am helping people that beat cancer, eating disorders, and other health-related issues. They inspire other people that they can overcome!
Has it been a smooth road?
I can’t say that there has been struggles. I have faced more of mental challenges in the beginning. Deciding to stick with shooting film for as long as possible and taking the plunge in the world of digital. Also, I have shot products, pin-up girls, landscapes, star trails, portraits, and I can keep adding to the list. I wanted to have one style and one goal. To this day, I do other types of photography outside of fitness and yoga. My love will always be stunning sunsets. This is why you will see them in my fitness and yoga photos.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
A lot of people reach out to me to do their fitness shoots. However, it mostly revolves around the struggles they have been going through and how they overcame those challenges. These clients gravitate towards me due to my open ear and interest in their health.
I specialize in fitness and yoga photography. I’m definitely known for my striking and dramatic yoga photos and for being absolutely personable and caring to my clients.
What makes me smile is when clients can’t believe that is what they look like. They are seeing what is straight out of a camera before photoshop touches them. Keep in mind, these are the comments made by people who are not models. Just regular humans pursuing their health and fitness journey.
What sets me apart from others is solely based on what my clients tell me. Here is a little quote from a happy client, “He really got to know who I am as a person.” I received this type of comment often. I connect and relate with my clients and this gives them the best experience ever!
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Denver is a great place for active lifestyle photography. We are ranked as one of the healthiest states and have the most Crossfit Gyms too. Also, fitness photography goes beyond the weights and gym. We have trails in the mountains for running and mountain biking. Of course, don’t forget those big mountains are for hiking, skiing and snowboarding. We do have great roads for bicycling too! We have so many sports in Colorado and it’s a great place for anyone starting out or seasoned. Wonderful people and amazing scenery!
