Today we’d like to introduce you to Leigh Germy.
Leigh, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started as a graphic designer out of college, dabbled in the non-profit world as well as the cosmetology and craft beer industry. I have been shooting since 2009 with the help and inspiration from some amazing mentors and photographers, such as Zack Arias. I moved here a year and a half ago from Atlanta, Georgia after coming here to visit some friends and spending some time in nature. Felt it was time for a change and new landscape.
Being a freelance creator here, I have already been able to work with some great clients such as FeverTree, Mythology Distillery, Seedstock Brewing and Epic Brewing Company. In March, I had the honor of joining the team at a new startup here soona studios here in Denver as the studio pro, acting as studio manager and photographer.
Has it been a smooth road?
The comparison game is always a struggle as well as the imposter syndrome in the creative world. Always questioning if you are good enough. Sometimes you lose files, sometimes it rains, sometimes you’re sick, but then there are the days that are magic and photos that you barely touch in Lightroom that make you so proud of what you create. I think it is important to have a strong network of peers and mentors that continue to affirm and critique constructively.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Im still in the honeymoon phase, so I really can’t say there is anything I don’t like… the weather is amazing as well as the view of the mountain scape every time I have to jump on the highway, and the sky! Goodness, it is just so beautiful.
