Thanks for sharing your story with us Allie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have worked as a professional songwriter for half a decade here in Boulder. In recent years, many of my close friends started getting married. I was faced with the age-old question: “What the heck makes a good wedding gift?” Buying off the registry felt removed and meaningless. I wanted to give gifts that would be cherished forever, had a low environmental impact, and truly celebrated the couple’s love. Songwriting felt like an obvious solution to my problem! I started writing, recording, and performing custom love songs as gifts for my friends at their weddings. Before long, guests started coming up and asking for the name of my custom wedding song business… thus Give Love Originals (GLO) came into being! I now help couples craft their vows and love stories into songs that add meaning and magic to their special day.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I have been so pleasantly surprised by the response I’ve received from couples and other professionals on the Colorado wedding scene. My colleagues in the industry have been unbelievably supportive, helpful, and encouraging along this journey. I’d say my greatest struggle has just been accepting and owning my own worth. I love the work I do, so it can be hard to remember that it is, in fact, work. I am so grateful to my clients, who continually remind me how precious and meaningful a song can be.
My greatest struggles as a songwriter (before starting GLO) were: getting my songs in front of other people and sustaining myself financially. I love that I am now in a position where I help and hire other songwriters to write music and share their original songs at weddings. It’s truly a gift to get to give back to other artists I know and love in that way.

Give Love Originals (GLO) helps couples enhance the magic and memorability of their wedding day through the co-creation of custom love songs.
We help couples transform their vows and love stories into songs that can be played at their wedding ceremony or reception. Songs are always recorded with the option for live-performance at the wedding.
Our songs are intentionally crafted based on the details of each couples’ story, their musical preferences, and the energy they desire to cultivate on their wedding day.
Our songs serve not only as artistic co-creations between couples, but also as the fabric that connects their guests to a deeper understanding of their love.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Well, it was certainly lucky that I was a seasoned songwriter when my friends started getting married… or else I might not have been able to solve the “meaningful gift” problem… and I might have declined a good many invitations to supremely fun weddings!
