Meet Ryan and Lindsay Longenecker of Collective Mind Technologies

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan and Lindsay Longenecker.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Ryan and Lindsay. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We started Collective Mind Technologies in 2017 with the intention of following our highest excitement. Ryan was unfulfilled at his full-time job and had always dreamt of owning his own business. He decided to start Collective Mind Technologies to offer Apple Tech Support to small businesses and freelancers, initially working with coworking spaces around Denver. As Ryan was growing the business, we were growing our family. Our daughter Lucy was born in September of 2018. We were motivated to have more flexible schedules so we could spend more time with our daughter. Lindsay officially joined Collective Mind Technologies in February 2019. Lindsay took the lead in expanding the video production services.

It was very scary to go from both working full-time jobs to being new parents, and running a new business without any consistent income. We both wanted to be challenged professionally, enjoy our work and have the flexibility and freedom to spend as much time with Lucy as possible. Although we have faced many challenges, as parents, a married couple, and business partners, we have loved the excitement and passion of our entrepreneur lifestyle.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Starting Collective Mind Technologies has definitely not been a smooth road. We spent many months hustling just to get enough work to pay our bills, including offering free service to build our client base and our portfolio. We have had to redefine our relationship and lifestyle over and over again as we continue to grow the business. Through this process, we have pushed ourselves to grow both professionally and personally. We have learned so much about ourselves, one another, and about running a business. We still have a lot of growth ahead, but we love the journey full of challenges and passion.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Collective Mind Technologies story. Tell us more about the business.
Collective Mind Technologies offers a variety of creative technology services. We offer technical support, video production services, wedding videography, Netsuite administration, photography and social media content creation. We make a great team, combining Ryan’s technical expertise and Lindsay’s creativity.

We love providing our array of services to small businesses and entrepreneurs to help them as their company grows. Ultimately, we love helping people, whether it’s through telling their stories with compelling videos or helping a company navigate an IT emergency. We value the relationships we build with our clients and becoming part of their team.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
We have definitely worked harder than ever before through the process of building our business. With that said, luck has definitely played a role throughout the process. We have been lucky and privileged to have the opportunity to both take the leap into full-time entrepreneurship. We have had so many wonderful opportunities to work with clients in all areas of CMT, that have allowed us to grow our business. We are grateful to all of our friends, family and clients that have helped along the way.
