Today we’d like to introduce you to Ty May Kranz and Christina Lucine Kaplan.
Ty and Christina have together been involved in the art and fashion industries their entire lives. They met at a fashion show in 2019 and it was truly (business) love at first sight. They immediately knew they wanted to work together. In January of 2020, they joined forces and established Twin Flame Productions as a partnership of their individual entities, T.K. Redesigns (Ty) and Ginchi Apparel (Christina). Since partnering, they have achieved everything they had envisioned individually for themselves and their team in the first six months. The development of their team includes a board of investors, Lead Marketing Director- Whitney Gaffari, Lead Photographer and Content Curator- Jaylyn Begay, and Lead Graphic Designer- Bailey O’Hara as well as nearly 50 contracted artists and designers for their Artist Empire (TM) collection.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Though 2020 has not been the year anyone has expected, we experienced minor setbacks in the start-up of our business regarding our major investors and in-person events. Thankfully, we have built our brand to be recession-proof in the process and have gained wisdom of what that looks like so we can operate smoothly in the future. Some of our struggles include: the relocation of our HQ, access to public spaces, in-person event delays, our overall reduction of budget for staffing and start-up production, and being a diverse team of intersecting identities with an obligation to show up for our communities as the activists that we inherently are, action and mental health breaks were key so that we may proceed forward in our business with ease.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Twin Flame Productions – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Twin Flame Productions is an eco-centric, gender fluid, representational brand offering hand-made clothing by artists worldwide. With Twin Flame Production’s large collection of artists and designers, called the Artist Empire™ the company stands out in the up-and-coming sustainable fashion industry. Twin Flame Productions requires a re-purposed approach of garment construction by using disposed and recycled fabric. We are transforming the influence, impact, and connection between the environment, humanity, fashion, and art. By producing sustainable fashion created with end-to-end eco-friendly processes, and through our collaborations with Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities, we create opportunities for all people to have access and mobility to do what they love with abundance and ease. By doing so, we are ending the harmful and inhumane impact on the environment and workers within the fast-fashion industry.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are now humbled to have the access and mobility to move forward with TFP as we have recently signed the lease for our HQ in the Arts District of Los Angeles. Currently, we are working on production plans for the latter of 2020. In addition, we have been expanding our Artist Empire (TM) Membership Program. (If you are an artist/designer, go to our website and look for Artist Empire (TM) info to join our family with extensive benefits, scholarships available).
