Today we’d like to introduce you to Julien Renaut.
Julien, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I first came in USA twelve years ago and started as executive pastry chef for a French bakery. After few years and multiple job, up to become Director of Cuisine for an establishment, I opened La Belle French Bakery 4 years ago. It started as a one man show and I started to hire employee after few months of activity. Since then we have moved the bakery two times (three locations total in four years) to expend and have a team of 8 now. We now deliver nearly 100 shops across Colorado and also haver one point of sale for retail at our warehouse.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say it has been smooth in the sense that I was prepared. So, every obstacle that I came across were almost expected. The real struggle was to start without money, without loan. The money management was probably the hardest but at the same time I knew I had to go through those steps in order to reach my daily, monthly and yearly goals.
La Belle French Bakery – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
La Belle French Bakery specialize in manufacturing and distributing French pastries such as croissant, pain au chocolat, cinnamon rolls, muffins, cookies and much more to businesses such as coffee shops, hotels and restaurants. We also have added recently a retail shop to our warehouse due to the pandemic. We are proud of the authenticity of our pastries and a strong customers satisfaction. All our wholesale customers have upgraded their quality and maximize their profits. Our difference is in the quality.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Anytime I hire a new staff member to expand the team is a very special moment.
I am very thankful people chose to work for me and not another bakery.
I am also very proud to bring young chef from France as intern to experience the American Life as someone did for me twelve years ago
