Meet Adrian Ritchie of Still Company. in South Broadway

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian Ritchie.

Adrian, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I spent years looking for and buying hats. “I need a new hat” I would think, I would look for one while traveling or spend hours online trying to find a style, design, color that I liked. If I was lucky enough to find one, I would cross my fingers hoping that when I received it, it was what I had expected. Was it high quality, was it comfortable, was the color the same? The majority of these occurrences, the answers to those questions was no. So I decided to design and sell my own. So I could get it right. Why doesn’t anyone talk about the size of a crown? Or show how a hat fits from all angles? Still Company. started with a goal to properly describe and define a hat so that a customer can receive what they expect. And therefore doesn’t have to waste money or take chances on many hats. They can stick to just one. Because we make hats you love.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We experienced challenges with our first supplier as they unfortunately did not provide our full shipment when restocking inventory. At first, they were responsive and said they would take care of it. But we never heard from them again! I wrote emails weekly for months. No answer. Needless to say, we moved on to a new supplier while still continuing to look for resolution.

Still Company. – what should we know? What do you best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We sell hats. We pride ourselves on describing our product really well, so you get what you expect.

We are also looking to incorporate giving back to movements we care deeply about. Still Company. has donated over $400 to Black Lives Matter in June when we launched our Second and Third Hat. We are looking to continue our donations and install a more permanent setup where we donate a portion of every sale to Black Lives Matter (or whichever cause we feel passionate about at that time).

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Publishing our website for the first time and then seeing Still Co. hats out in the wild.
