Meet Maggie Boesen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maggie Boesen.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Having worked in the event industry for ten years, I’ve always had a passion for planning, whether it’s a big festival or a small wedding ceremony. After moving to Colorado at the beginning of 2019, I realized there was an opportunity to turn my event planning experience into my own business as a day of wedding coordinator. Many venues across Colorado require a day-of coordinator, which made me aware of the need in the state. I believe that all couples should enjoy their wedding day stress-free and not have to worry about the details. This allows me to fulfill my passion for executing their vision while they get to enjoy their day with family and friends.

Has it been a smooth road?
I really started my business mid-wedding season in 2019, so it took a bit to grow a following and trust in couples, leading to my first bookings in summer 2020. With Covid-19, that led to cancelations and postponements of many of my first weddings.

Although the industry has been hit hard this season, it’s really allowed me to meet other vendors and share our passion for weddings through styled shoots. I’m fortunate enough to meet so many talented creatives in the industry who are all supporting each other and helping each other succeed.

Although it’s been a little bumpy, I’ve learned so much in my first year of business that it’s set me up for success in the long run.

Alright – so let’s talk business. What else should we know about you and your career so far?
I’m a day-of wedding coordinator for the couples who plan their day like a pro and are ready to pass the responsibility off to someone else so they can enjoy their day stress-free. I’m not a full wedding planner but I will help guide couples through the decision-making process and give tips or advice to ensure their day is just as they envision. I love that I am able to come in and execute all the details knowing that it’s what the couple wants and that I’m someone they trust to help make their day go smoothly.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Micro weddings! One major thing we’re already seeing from COVID is the downsizing of the guest list. I think it’s so beautiful to see couples realize who is most important to have there to witness them get married. Intimate weddings allow for so many things – couples to spend more time with all their guests and each other, more flexibility on the venue/location of the ceremony and reception, the budget allows for more creativity with food and other details, the list goes on!
