Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia Mason.
Hi Olivia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Brandout Social started as a way to help businesses reach more of their community. I grew up in a family full of chiropractors, in the holistic health field, was a competitive cheerleader in college and was involved in health and fitness my whole life, playing soccer, basketball, and volleyball growing up. I went to school with the intention of going to chiropractic school but soon discovered a love for social media and graphic design. Shoutout to Kelsey B @prettypaperco for fueling this passion. She saw in me something I didn’t see in myself and I am forever grateful. I wasn’t sure how I could use my love for holistic health in my future workplace but soon after graduating started working for True North Chiropractic as their full time Director of Brand Communications.
After a year at True North Chiropractic, COVID-19 hit. So many chiropractors around the country were losing patients, not sure how to educate their communities, and some had just opened their doors and didn’t know where to turn to. The office that I worked (True North) for was still booming with success, despite COVID. We were able to reach and educate so much of the Colorado Springs area which resulted in friends of our doctors reaching out to find out what the “hidden secret” to our success was. And that’s all the push I needed to start Brandout Social. Brandout Social was born in a time that was probably one of the worsts for starting a business, but there was a need for it. We primarily work with chiropractors across the country to help them share their stories and educate on holistic health as an alternative medicine. However, we’ve also teamed up with brands like The Sleepy Turtle, Innate Performance, Mystic Resort, Timber Creek Church, Hard to Kill, and more to help develop their brands and reach more of their community.
After officially launching in January of 2021 we have helped bring in over $275,000 of added income from our efforts to the businesses we have worked with which has been HUGE during this time. Our clients have also reported feeling a weight lifted off of their shoulders. It is so much stress for people to run their business, do what they love, then also have to focus on their branding and social media/marketing needs. It’s also stressful to hand it off to an agency that doesn’t understand what you do and is only looking out for their best interest.
Our goal is to connect with small businesses, offer them support, and help their businesses grow. That’s where our heart is at. Our team is small, but mighty, and while we are just making our footsteps known in this world, we are ready to face and tackle the challenges ahead. We have a heart for working with small businesses and doing what we can to bring their visions for their brands to life and share their stories with this world. Our mission was solely bread out of a passion for making a human connection, especially in a time where human connection has been so lost. We believe that every life is worth living for. And every human is worth connecting with.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Covid-19 was honestly one of the biggest struggles. We debated launching during this time because it was scary. It was uncertain. There wasn’t a guarantee. But those are things every business owner inevitably has to face. As well as the constant nagging voice in the back of every small business owners head: “Am I good enough? Will this be successful enough? Will I fail?” Those have been the biggest struggled of all. I think if you open a business with no bumps in the road then you are a miracle. Every business faces bumps, challenges, and thoughts of failure. But one thing that we strongly believe in at Brandout is that success is only happens when you aren’t afraid to fail. The worst enemy to every successful business is doubt.
So, at Brandout we make it our mission to take our doubts and turn them into stories of success. Our team is built out of a desire for constantly learning more, improving, findings ways to grow, and recognizing all the other businesses that have shown us love and trusted us during this process. Our clients aren’t just clients, at this point, they’ve turned into family and we are forever grateful that we are able to wake up every morning doing what we love and helping other businesses grow.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Brandout Social?
We kind of touched on this in the beginning question but we are known for our Branding. So many business owners, especially those who aren’t in the arts or creative world, either don’t have time to run their social media or don’t know where to start. That’s where we come in. Every single business has a story to be told and our job is to make that happen. We are a little bit different than most branding agencies because we look for opportunities to help people grow and reach people in their communities. For us, it’s not just about designing a logo and getting paid. It’s about fostering relationships, building connections, and telling stories. For our chiropractic clients, that means taking a weight off their shoulders, educating their communities on holistic health, and getting new practice members in through their doors. For our brand development clients, that means taking all of their ideas and putting it on paper for it to become a reality. We work with people that have big ideas but don’t know how to properly execute them.
By the time, they go through our process we pride ourselves in earning their trust. We never want our clients to feel like “clients”. One thing we say often in our business is that we are our client’s cheerleaders. We are part of their team. Our success comes from watching, seeing, and helping them succeed. We also pride ourselves with being transparent. Every step of the way we are constantly seeing what we can do to improve, how we can better serve, and how we can help small businesses reach more people. We don’t have a “secret sauce” like most agencies that we aren’t willing to share. We are constantly checking in with our clients because we truly believe we are part of their team and that means setting + crushing goals alongside them.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
For Liv (Olivia), personally, taking time to unplug allows me to perform the best at work. I love kick starting my morning with a good Sadie Robertson podcast. “Whoa That’s Good” brings to light so many things in my life that help me focus on my goals for the week, months, and years ahead. Although, who doesn’t love diving into a good “Crime Junkies” podcast every now and then? Some books that have been amazing resources for growth have been – The 4 Hour Work Week – How To Win Friends and Influence People – Rework – and the $100 Startup And being 100% transparent as a Christian, reading and diving into the Bible each morning sets the tone for my week. It helps me focus, reminds me how to best serve my community, and holds me accountable to myself and the amazing people I work with. Girlfriends In God is my favorite devotional and that is how I start my morning every single day. (With some Sleepy Turtle Coffee of course!)
