Check Out Stephanie Eddy Pierce’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Eddy Pierce.

Hi Stephanie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve loved taking photos since I was a kid, it was something that my grandfather and I would do together.
He’d take me on “photography dates” and we’d take photos of wildlife; alligators, birds local to the Galveston area.

It was a time for connection.

In college I took film photography classes almost every semester, even before I decided to pursue a degree in art. I loved the process, the forced slow down, the anticipation of an image you remembered but didn’t quite know if you captured.

I started my business in Galveston, Texas in 2014 and love preserving memories from all seasons of life. Photos remind us of people who matter to us, and of seasons of life that impacted us.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t!

I built my business in Galveston over about 7 years, and had a good client base there before moving to Colorado in 2021. Since then I’ve had to restart; new terrain, new clients. I’ve poured money (I didn’t have) into website redesigns, and education courses, and none of it has paid off as quickly as I hoped. I’ve had to work a day job since moving to Colorado to pay the bills, but am seeing an increase in my bookings for 2026, and am so encouraged!

I absolutely love what I do, and it’s worth continuing to pursue, even when it takes time to build a business from scratch after moving to a new state.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I love candid photograph, preserving moments of interaction between people, especially at weddings!

There are so many moments that set your wedding day apart, and that you want to remember. And my goal as a photographer is to take photos that remind you of those feelings, those interactions. Because your relationship with your grandmother isn’t a posed photo with you in your wedding dress. It’s the big grin she had as your mom pins on her corsage.

My background in film definitely influences the way I take photos (although I take way more photos with my digital cameras than I could with film!).

My husband and I have lost 3 close family members since our wedding 2.5 years ago, and I am so grateful for the photos we have of each of them from out wedding. We miss them deeply, but having photos is so helpful as we grieve and remember them.

What’s next?
Since having my son in 2024 I’ve pivoted my business from focusing on family photography toward weddings and elopements, and I’m so excited to partner with other wedding professionals in the area! I’m looking forward to a busy 2026 season, and excited to be a witness for the couples whose weddings I’m photographing.

One of the really neat things about photographing elopements here in Colorado is that when couples decide to self solemnize I really get to be the only witness to their wedding day, and the people who see photos from their day will see them all from my perspective. It’s such an honor!

Pricing:

  • Elopement packages start at $1200
  • Wedding coverage starts at $1400
