Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandy Wilson.
Hi Brandy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
For me, yoga is the blending of being and doing. My love was first sparked in 2017 while living in Costa Rica. Met yoga at two different points, first was the mental, a way for me to find stillness in a world of chaos. A few years later, I found my way to Colorado and that’s when I came back to my practice for physical healing after an injury from running. It wasn’t long after that I craved a consistent and more engaging practice and decided to enroll in a YTT program.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It never is! A lot of the struggles came from figuring out how to connect with my community and which outlet I wanted to use for my creativity. As a Gemini, I tend to gravitate towards a variety of hobbies, so as you can imagine my journey to finding yoga was quite a long one. I had to discover how I wanted to make an impact in the world.
This started with becoming a Reiki master, which then turned into making Reiki-infused candles. But felt like something was missing, being able to express me through movement. A personal practice turned into a business when I found what set my soul on fire, yoga.
As you know, we’re big fans of Sacred Embodiment. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My mission is to offer a safe space for students to be seen and begin stepping into their authentic selves while cultivating connection and clarity. I believe there is nothing more powerful than movement. In my eyes, it can help you control your emotions, get back into your body or help you release the day, along with so much more! I Specialize in two different yoga styles, Vinyasa Flow and Yin Yoga. Bringing yoga outside the studio, I offer private classes and wellness programs for companies.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
When I was first introduced to Yoga, I was actually in massage school and it was one of the perks on campus. Little did I know, I’d switch my career to it!
