Conversations with the Inspiring Alexandra Sawyer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Sawyer.

Alexandra, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started doing a film class in college and realized I loved it. I loved seeing how much joy it brought when people received photos of loved ones. I went to the Art Institute of Colorado after to learn more then started my own business.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road, many ups and downs for sure, but worth it. I love what I do and I’ll keep trying to make my dream and passion possible. You can’t worry about what others are doing just do your best and keep trying but be supportive of others in the same business!

What should we know about Alexandra M Thompson Photography? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I dabble in everything, I do weddings to babies to events and everything in-between. My business has grown so much in the last couple of years, it’s pretty awesome that all of it has come from word of mouth from former clients! I am especially proud of the client base I have, most of them I shot there engagement all the way to being a family for four! I have the best gift of getting to watch their lives grow!

It would be great to hear about any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve used and would recommend to others.
I don’t really have anything like that on top of being a photographer I am a mother to a 3-year-old boy. I do what I do because I love it and I get to spend more time with my family. My son pushes me to make my and his life better.
