Today we’d like to introduce you to Arin Abbott.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I began my real estate career almost 20 years ago just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After moving to Castle Rock, Colorado in 2003, I joined a real estate team. Being a part of a team and having that leverage around me was such a great opportunity to grow my real estate career while also growing my young family at the same time!
I am the proud mama of three children; Karsyn (17), Zachary (14) and Trey (12) and stepmom to three more littles (that’s a fun story for another day!) Once my youngest went to school full time, I knew it was time to build a team of my own. Building and marketing this team lead to becoming the Managing Broker of a local real estate company and provided me with experience in not just selling real estate, but teaching and coaching other brokers to succeed in our industry.
When the company that I was working for merged with another larger firm, I was asked to stay on as Managing Broker. Though flattered, I knew in my heart that the larger, corporate firms weren’t what spoke to my big-picture vision. I decided at that time, after being in real estate for 16 years, to finally open the doors to my own real estate company, ViaTerra Homes. A place where I could provide a home and family atmosphere for other local real estate brokers who share my values of coming from a place of contribution to our communities, learning and improving from the collaboration of peers and a strong understanding that real estate is a service industry. An industry not to be driven by ego, but to be lead from partnership.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Is any road truly smooth? I am not sure that I’ve been on one! But I am a firm believer in trusting your process. When my now 17-year-old daughter was going through some typical Middle School woes… I told her to “find your center.” If you are always being true to your center… your family, your friends, your goals, your joys, your priorities… things have a way of unfolding as they should. Even the biggest set-backs, frustrations or disappointments are temporary and help prepare you for finding gratitude in the good that is to come. That sounded deeper than I meant it to be.
Anyway, Karsyn and I are getting matching tattoos for her 18th birthday that say “Find Your Center.” Because we live it and we believe it… and tattoos are fun!

We provide our brokers with a level of coaching, training and support that we believe to be unparalleled in our industry while ensuring that they are still able to profit at a level that allows them to invest in themselves and their growth. We offer workspace without desk fees, real estate management software, CRM software, signs, marketing pieces, real estate leads and although our office feels like home, our conference room provides state of the art technology for our industry. We are steadfast about providing consistent education and group training opportunities.
Do you have any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general? What has worked well for you?
When looking for a mentor in the real estate industry, whether that is an agent to guide you through the home selling or buying process, or a real estate firm to support you through your real estate career, the single most important piece is working with someone that you trust. Positive experiences in our industry come from the personal connections that we have made. Getting to know our communities in person means so much to us at ViaTerra. We would love to get to know more about all of you too!
