Conversations with the Inspiring Eleanor Hanafin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eleanor Hanafin.

Eleanor, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always been interested in skincare but it wasn’t until about a year ago that I decided to pursue my license in esthetics. Growing up, I struggled with acne, sensitive skin, and mild rosacea. I did everything to try and solve these problems with varying success. It wasn’t until I began to see an esthetician that I started to see any improvement. My esthetician, Stacy, is amazing and her knowledge and passion for skincare, as well as my own experiences, inspired me to finally pursue a career in this field.

Has it been a smooth road?
My journey has been full of ups and downs. To be honest, I’m still trying to figure things out, especially with current world events. The best advice I can give is to have conviction and be passionate about what you want to do. It’s also important to think about small goals, not just the big ones!

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I have several jobs but I primarily focused on my career in esthetics right now. I am fairly new to the field and still finding where I want to focus but I am incredibly passionate about making people feel beautiful. Education is also a large part of my practice. I strive to always send guests home with one piece of at-home skincare advice!

Do you have a lesson or advice you’d like to share with young women just starting out?
Be ready to pivot! You may think you know what you’re getting into only to have your expectations completely upended. Don’t let this deter you from your goals but you may need to reevaluate what you truly want and how best to achieve those things.
