Conversations with the Inspiring Hannah Seeley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Seeley.

Hannah, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Early on, I discovered my love for art & design. I would come home from school and spend hours playing around with the graphic-driven software I learned about in my design classes. My love for design did not end here, and I decided to study creative advertising & design in college. Even as I pursued other ventures, changed my major, and ended up graduating with a degree in education, my passion for the creative endured. Through all of this, I discovered I ultimately wanted to be a designer!

After agreeing to dabble into a few design projects with entrepreneurial friends of mine, I decided I had to pursue my passion full-time. From there, Anchored Publishing was born. Through my creative design studio, I want to help others bring their branding, website and stationery design visions to life!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road to being a business owner has certainly not always been a smooth one. I think my biggest struggle is being my own worst critic. As a solopreneur, it’s easy to doubt me or lose confidence in my abilities. If I am being totally honest, I have to fight feelings of fear & uncertainty almost daily. Entrepreneurship constantly pushes me out of my comfort zone and forces me to be vulnerable in ways that don’t always feel good or natural. But through all of the hardship, I’ve learned to persist & hold on to my passion above all else. I’ve learned to accept the fact that sometimes, I will fail. But failing does not mean losing. Failing always presents an opportunity for growth & change

To those ladies just starting their journey, remember that growth takes time. It’s easy to be impatient with ourselves & demand an unfair level of personal perfection. We get so caught up in believing we are not enough that we forget to look back & see how far we’ve already come. So, remember to give yourself grace and be true to yourself and your personal style. Failures & struggles WILL happen – but they will sharpen you as an individual and as a business owner. They will fill you with new strength & perspective. And before you know it, will provide an opportunity to look back & be filled with gratitude for being forced to move & to grow.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I’m a creative entrepreneur with a passion for helping my clients create original designs anchored in intention.

I specialize in crafting brands, websites, and stationery for the lovers of thoughtful, one-of-a-kind creations. My clients benefit most from my ability to listen to their creative visions and then turn their design dreams into a reality through custom & original artwork.

My most popular service is my branding design package. This package offers so much more than just a logo- it creates a brand experience that will attract my client’s ideal audience. Brand identity matters – mood, colors, fonts, accents – they all work together to reflect a business mission and give it life! Building a cohesive brand for my clients paints a picture of who they uniquely are & brings out the heart behind their business. When my clients invest in custom branding design, it shows that they pay attention to intricacies and care about the small details, ultimately building trust with their audience and leading to customer loyalty.

Looking back on your childhood, what experiences do you feel played an important role in shaping the person you grew up to be?
I was a competitive dancer from age seven until I graduated from college. Dance taught me to be competitive, disciplined, organized, and driven, all characteristics that have been enormous in my success as a person and as a business owner. And though these are all very beneficial, I believe the most important skill dance gave me was the “go for it” mentality, even in the face of fear and self-doubt. This mentality is ultimately what lead me to take the leap into entrepreneurship.
