Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Pendleton.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jordan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My journey has been anything but smooth or linear to where I am standing right now! I began my career in financial services as a financial planner right out of college. A career that I started because I wanted to help people, to have independence, and uncapped income potential – slowly turned into what felt like a trap for me.
At the age of 25, I was working 60 to sometimes 90 hour work weeks to build my business. I was incredibly committed and determined – but the wheels started to fall off the bus, so to speak. While I was winning awards and receiving all sorts of accolades for my accomplishments, earning far above the average salary for a 25-year-old, working with great people, and much more – something always seemed to be missing. I was working so hard that I began to lose sight of what mattered most to me in my life. I was often thinking to myself, “Is this it? Is this what life is all about? There’s got to be more than this.”
As a result, my health was suffering (mentally and physically). My relationships were taking the back burner leaving me feeling disconnected and alone. And on top of it all, I was spending more than I was making and going into debt because I wasn’t truly happy or fulfilled with the life I was creating. It was a life full of empty accomplishments and I felt like I was just making money to pay for a lifestyle I didn’t even know that I wanted anymore.
And because I was a financial planner, I was also swimming in so much shame because of my debt. And it just never seemed to get any better no matter how much knowledge and education that I had around money. Something had to change!
So, I decided to do some soul searching and find out what it was that I was truly desiring out of my life, what actually mattered to me, what brought me joy, etc. Over the last three years, I’ve learned so much about myself and how my relationship with money was creating some very destructive patterns in my life. And now, I get the privilege of helping other high-achieving women to do the same!
Nora A’bell with RevenueTribe was one of the main mentors and influences in my life. Her coaching program truly transformed the way that I saw myself, others, and the world around me – something in me knew I wanted to offer that same opportunity to others. A few years later, I became a licensed facilitator of her coaching and workshops and love getting to help others create transformation in their lives!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There have been so many ups and downs along this journey – but looking back on it, I wouldn’t trade it for anything!
Often times, we think we want stability, security, and predictability – and that’s what I was attempting to create early on in my career. Thinking life would be easier if it was stable and predictable. But truthfully, there are challenges that come with that path as well! Challenges are unavoidable in life.
The hardest part for me has been learning to trust that everything is always working out! And it SO is. Sometimes you won’t know why something happened or what is really going on until months or years later. But every experience has a purpose – so learn to trust yourself and the process of your own life and growth!
Keep focusing on being the best that YOU can be in any given moment and taking one step at a time. Nothing great ever happens overnight – so keep focused on where you’re going, but mostly putting one foot in front of the other, trusting that it’s all working out more than you can see or feel right now!
What should we know about RevenueTribe? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I work with an amazing company called RevenueTribe as a money mindset coach, facilitating workshops, and running our online platform called ImpactWarriors!
In the one-on-one coaching that I do, I help amazing, high-achieving women with variable income get to the ROOT of what is stopping them from whatever they are desiring most in their finances and their lives! I’m passionate about helping people connect back with who they really are, identify what they truly want out of life, and take action towards what that is so that they can experience joy in their lives and become the best versions of themselves. My approach blends the emotional, psychological, and spiritual elements of money and life with strategy and execution.
At RevenueTribe, we are all about helping rising leaders and world changers to maximize the unique impact that they were created to make in the world. Our online membership, coaching programs, and workshops are all incredibly transformational!
Who do you look up to? How have they inspired you?
There are so many – it’s hard to list them all out!
As I mentioned before, Nora A’bell with RevenueTribe has been an incredible source of inspiration and guidance for me in the last 4 or 5 of years. I’m so honored to get to work with her, the team she has created, and to be working towards something so much bigger than myself with them!
Julia Gentry has also been an incredible catalyst for change in my life. She challenged me in so many ways to really examine myself and the way I was living my life and I’m so grateful for that.
I’ve listened to the Oprah Super Soul podcast for a while now as well – and even though I don’t know her personally, she’s always reminding me to slow down and be more present in my life and that it’s not a race.
My mom, my mother-in-law, my best friends, my colleagues, and my clients inspire me every day as well! I’d say just pick your circle wisely – whether you actually know them or not. Make sure they are life-giving and you feel better anytime you spend time with them!
