Conversations with the Inspiring Lalania and Flor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lalania and Flor.

Lalania and Flor, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We both met at our last place of employment – a local non-profit organization. There, we connected and became friends as we shared many interests related to spirituality and healing work. Lalania, (co-owner) launched a subscription box business in which she would share sacred items for spiritual practice from all over the works with folks nationally. She always dreamed of having her own retail space in which she could do this work locally as well. Flor, (co-owner) had been a hands-on healing practitioner and was ready to launch her own space in which she could facilitate creating space where the community could connect and create collectively.

Eventually, a perfect little space became available and within a few weeks, we had both embarked on a path into this new journey. A couple of months after signing the lease, we opened Alchemy Ritual Good, now going strong on to year three.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Obstacles? Sure – however, when your work is so closely aligned with your passion and purpose – it doesn’t feel like much of an obstacle. We always have to be creative and ensure that we are working ethically in the community while also keeping our doors open. This has been a great learning experience.

Tips: Do your research!! Use resources available to you and connect with the community around you. They will become your biggest supporters and help you get through any rough patches.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Alchemy Ritual Goods story. Tell us more about it.
Our shop is dedicated to providing sacred healing tools for anyone’s spiritual and wellness needs. We provide local handmade products, as well as imported goods related to mental, spiritual, physical and emotional wellness. We also have a great team of integrated wellness practitioners and a full schedule of offerings accessible to the community. We believe that wellbeing should be accessible to everyone and strive to make our offerings available.

Looking back on your childhood, what experiences do you feel played an important role in shaping the person you grew up to be?
We both come from different backgrounds, which speaks to the diversity in perspective that has created the space the way it is. Hard work, innovation, creativity, and connection with purpose can all be attributed to whatever led us here today. We believe that all our experiences have led us here and that we have the personal power to respond to the call. It would be difficult to name just one experience that has played a role but certainly strong and resilient women make up very important parts of our lives. They taught us how to move forward and showed how powerful the divine feminine leads.
