Conversations with the Inspiring Lindsay Emmerich

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Emmerich.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always had a love for flowers and plants ever since I was a little girl! In high school, I had a hostess job where we designed simple floral arrangements and I loved it so much. I continued on to CSU where I majored in Floriculture and also received a Floral Design Certificate! I then started at the very bottom and worked my way up in several flower shops in Fort Collins and Denver, which lead me to create- Fairytale Floral. I am now in my fourth year as a full-time company! We offer wedding and event design as well as recurring office deliveries. In 2018 we had the pleasure of working with 65 happy couples and this year is only climbing from there! We have been honored to receive The Knot Best of Weddings 2018 and 2019.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being an entrepreneur and small business owner is extremely hard work and definitely is not always a smooth road, but is also one of the most rewarding accomplishments! Each and every year I overcome struggles within my business, whether it’s learning to outsource pieces of my business, managing employees/contractors or even simple budgeting and accounting tasks. My biggest piece of advice would be to take advantage of networking opportunities and connections within your business circle. This can sometimes be a lonely road and you need other business owners and people in your life who push you and encourage you to continue to grow!

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am the owner of Fairytale Floral in Littleton Colorado! We are a floral design studio specializing in weddings and events throughout Colorado and beyond. Our style is very whimsical and garden-like, with fun textures and color choices, that are paired with fun and unusual botanicals! I’m very proud to be a green business owner, we make a large effort to recycle, reuse and use eco-friendly design methods as often as possible to keep our Earth clean 🙂

For good reason, society often focuses more on the problems rather than the opportunities that exist, because the problems need to be solved. However, we’d probably also benefit from looking for and recognizing the opportunities that women are better positioned to capitalize on. Have you discovered such opportunities?
Absolutely! I am lucky to be surrounded by a ton of badass women in leadership roles and I believe that there are a ton of opportunities for women in any industry today as long as you are willing to stand up for it!
