Conversations with the Inspiring Maggie Stewart

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maggie Stewart.

Maggie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always thought creatively ever since I can remember. When I was younger, I had a HUGE imagination.. but it wasn’t until college where I feel like I fully “tapped” into my creative side. I went to a small liberal arts school (Eckerd College) in St.Pete, Florida. I think it was the change of scenery and different environment that inspired me to get more into photography. Sophomore year of college, I started a blog to showcase my photography and post things that interested me… mostly fashion related. From there, I grew this platform and have had many incredible opportunities. I recently started a podcast with my mom who is a school counselor and just got her doctorate! (You go girl!) We talk about our different take on everything from mental health, our favorite curse words and love languages. It’s fun and a new platform to continue to grow and connect with an audience on. I’m excited to see where it takes us as well as the future with everything.

Has it been a smooth road?
Heck, no it hasn’t been a smooth road and quite frankly it’s still not. I feel lost most of the time in what exactly I want to do career-wise… but I’m learning to just trust my intuition, follow my creativity and learn to ride this crazy wave of life. As for advice..”Don’t Compare Your Chapter 1 To Someone Else’s Chapter 20!” It’s easy to get wrapped up in what others may be accomplishing that are in a similar field but I try to use that as inspiration rather than jealousy. Another piece of advice I’d say for young women starting a similar journey is don’t be afraid to take risks for you never know where certain opportunities can lead.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
It’s hard to put just one label on what I do but overall, I’d say I am a digital creator and style influencer. I’m most proud of the brand I’ve created for myself over the years. I’m proud of my ability to self motivate and how I am not afraid to take risks or put myself out there in the digital world. I try to be authentic in life and everything I post. Social media is a highlight reel but I try to show my “real” life through my Instagram stories and even captions.

Who do you look up to? How have they inspired you?
Any woman who is a boss babe who beats to their own creative drum inspires me. But, truly all the woman in my life inspire me. I have such an amazing crew of girlfriends that I’m in awe of all they’ve been through and who they are becoming. I find that I’m at my best when I surround myself with people who are positive and genuinely supportive of my goals, dreams and aspirations.
