Conversations with the Inspiring Rachel Glamm

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Glamm.

Rachel, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started in the beauty industry when I was in high school, attending a tech program for esthetics. I decided not to stop there and go and get my full on cosmetology license. Through my journey, I eventually found my passion for doing nails and specifically nail art. It’s funny because nails were never on my agenda. While working in a salon I offered makeup, waxing, hair and nail services and realized I want to focus on one specific thing and master it, I wanted to only do the one that brought me the most joy- nails. So through a few year process, I finally decided to give my all to my passion.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I don’t think it’s ever a smooth road to reach your goals. It definitely takes a lot of hard work, sacrifice and passion to get to where you want to be – time, money, sleep, relationships, mental health. To women starting a new business or journey, I want you to always remind yourself to keep pushing day-by-day to get to where you want to be. Be patient, be humble and be kind to yourself first. The sacrifices you will make will always be worth it in the long run.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Rachel Glamm story. Tell us more about the business.
I go by Rachel Glamm and I specialize in nail art. As a nail artist, I am most proud of my character drawings. I love cartoons and anime and use that as inspiration for my art on tiny little canvases. I love that in my career I can play around with so many different techniques and products- nail shapes, colors, designs. It keeps me inspired constantly thinking of new nail ideas.

Looking back on your childhood, what experiences do you feel played an important role in shaping the person you grew up to be?
I definitely think my childhood had a role in my success, specifically my mom. She was a single mother raising me and my two older siblings. She taught me to always stay humble through any experience and to always do a good job while having fun and taking care of myself. She herself is also an artist so growing up I remember always getting into her art stuff and trying to learn what she did with her art.
