Conversations with the Inspiring Sarah Johns

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Johns.

Something Styled, Inc. was started in 2012.

After graduating with a degree from the University of Northern Colorado Sarah pursued her passion to design and plan all of life’s celebrations.

Shortly after Sarah opened her doors her professionalism, attention to detail, creativity, and her love for events attracted many clients.

She is well known in the industry in Colorado and her work has attracted attention from Martha Stewart, 9 News, Style Me Pretty, Magnolia Rouge, Rocky Mountain Bride, Green Wedding Shoes, Junebug Weddings, Once Wed, Hostess with the Mostess, and many more.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Not at all! Starting a business has been a lot of work and each day I have found myself growing and adapting to what each new chapter brings.

As I have been going down this path since I was in my early twenties, I have been sandpapered and sharpened both personally and professionally. Each wedding and event has been a wonderful stepping stone to creating the business I have envisioned for a very long time.

However, one of the biggest stepping stones when building my business was building a team. What that means for each business looks different. For me it was to find a team of people who exude passion, expertise, and happiness.

In 2019 I began feeling burnt out and needed a team of people to create community through creativity with in order to get through 2019. Let’s be honest – there always comes a time when a business owner has hit capacity and can’t keep hustling day in and day out. It’s been such a process growing, finding, and training the right people for my team but in 2020 my dream team is coming to life

What should we know about Something Styled, Inc.? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Something Styled, Inc. is an event management and floral design company. We offer multiple services which sets us apart from most companies in the area.

We are obsessed with making people feel celebrated! We love being behind the scenes cheering on the lead role.

We love to serve those who are happy to celebrate what they need to bring to life. Some of our most memorable clients to date are the ones that respect your pricing, trust your process, and are grateful with the outcome.

We are known for our down to earth yet professional style. You could say many of our wedding clients are from areas Texas, NYC, AZ, and CA. They come to us to design and plan the perfect destination wedding. Many of our wedding clients utilize all of our services. But we aren’t exclusive!

Our corporate and nonprofit clients seek our design and attention to detail.

What do you feel are the biggest barriers today to female leadership, in your industry or generally?
I believe one of the biggest barriers today to female leadership is the lack of confidence women have in general. Imagine a world where all business owners had the confidence of Beyonce. Could you imagine how quickly the price shopping would stop?
