Conversations with the Inspiring Shahla Hebets

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shahla Hebets.

Shahla, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After two decades of digital marketing experience, working with clients of all sizes and within multiple industries, I was inspired to start my own firm in 2016. I saw a general lack of innovative thought within big marketing and advertising agencies, and I could not think of a single woman-owned firm. I also had a drive (which remains today) to help businesses succeed. Those factors gave me the courage to step out on my own and chart a unique path. I began seeking out the best people to join my team, and shortly thereafter, I landed a very big client. The rest is history. Since that time, I continue to look for new and emerging opportunities to create distinct and effective marketing strategies for my clients. I awake each morning looking for creative ways to connect with my clients’ audiences. This desire led me to write my book, What’s Working Now? YOU-centric Marketing based on my experience working with clients, and my passion for creating impactful marketing where the customer feels truly valued. My book will release on Sept. 24, 2019.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Growing my business, writing a marketing book, and raising my children has definitely presented its challenges. It can be difficult to balance the various needs and feel like I’m doing my best for all. I have found that allowing a little time for myself, first thing in the morning (before my kids awake), has made a significant difference and improved my attitude. It gives me the opportunity to prioritize my day, set my intentions and focus my attention on what matters most. I have also learned to cut myself a little slack and to slow down when I feel hurried. I tackle the most important things first and try to stay present. Staying present allows me to experience life and feel grateful for all that I have. My advice for women who are experiencing the same is simple, you cannot focus on others effectively if you never take the time to focus on yourself. You are worthy of a little “you time,” and your work, family and relationships will improve once you begin prioritizing yourself.

What should we know about Think Media Consulting? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My digital marketing firm focuses on a YOU-centric approach which makes your customers feel valued, special and important. In today’s high-technology marketing landscape, many brands are just noise to their potential customers because they make their marketing all about the brand. That not only doesn’t resonate with the customer, but it can also feel non-distinct in the eyes of the consumer because the differences of your brand get lost in an often crowded marketplace. We develop strategies that focus on your customer’s needs and wants which helps them become brand advocates and loyal customers. We also focus on the health and wellness space because this is our passion. However, we are always willing to help clients outside of this industry who appreciate and understand our unique approach.

It would be great to hear about any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve used and would recommend to others.
My favorite book at present is the Universe Has Your Back by Gabby Bernstein. I love that the book focuses on letting go of control and opening yourself up to all the good that surrounds us. I also love reading ScaryMommy and the Content Marketing Institute’s blogs.
