Conversations with Kathleen Sargent

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathleen Sargent.

Hi Kathleen, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story started in April 2020 after one of our Sunday worship services. Two other ministers, Pastor Louis Ray and Professor Magdalen Jean-Baptiste and myself were chitchatting on Zoom about the Word of God and the love we have for Him; one thing led to another. 🙂 The conversation was so good, I said, ‘Y’all gone make me select GO LIVE on Facebook’. They said, ‘go ahead’! It was such an exciting and internal affirming moment in my life. After we signed off, I said to Pappa (that’s the name I call God), ‘Lord, let me know when You want me to officially launch Chilln with Purpose’. He said, ‘you already did’! Since then, Chilln with Purpose has been going LIVE every Sunday afternoon at 1:30 MST. We are currently in season 2. We are also in the process of building our podcast on Buzzsprout. For now, we have five episodes loaded for our viewing audience to listen to at their leisure.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road; it is and has been a rewarding road that is well worth traveling. Anytime one commits to forging deeper into their purpose, there are obstacles that await. Believe it or not, the obstacles are not designed to destroy us, they are designed to build and transform us. They are even for us to provide the experience and good counsel to those coming behind us. DON’T BE A HOARDER of what you have learned and accomplished. Share your wisdom to those who earnestly seek it. Some of the struggles along the way are and is, is getting some of the guests to respond in a timely manner – Good counsel moment, stay true to your deadline given and keep moving forward. Allow the moments to pull out the better in you. Another struggle is the need for some guests to take what they have been invited to do as a privilege, opportunity for impact and recognize a real platform that is being provided for them and us. I work with two awesome co-hosts, Magdalen Jean-Baptiste and Sandra Jordan. We have an absolute blast working together. We are also navigating each other’s personality and being intentional about building a healthy relationship in each other’s face and behind each other’s back!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the founder of Chilln with Purpose. Chilln with Purpose is a faith-based broadcast designed intentionally to rescue the heart and the mind by providing tools for each individual’s life toolbox to access when needed in order to accomplish the life task set before us. This broadcast is shared with two amazing co-hosts: Magdalen Jean-Baptiste and Sandra Jordan. We talk about a variety of topics. I know when many people hear the term ‘faith-based’ they may think this another Bible teaching program. It is that and so much more. I would encourage you to watch/listen to the videos on my Facebook page and there are some on our Chilln with Purpose Facebook page. I am still loading the videos to our Chilln with Purpose page. 🙂 We have another good season lined up for the viewing audience. So far this season, we have discussed the following: A Walk Thru Ephesians 6 * The Misunderstanding of Prayer & Intercession * Growing in Adulthood and we just finished up doing a LIVE prayer broadcast. In times past, we have talked about Grief * Triggers* Identity * Renovation * The Seed and various other topics. We are not locked in to a specific genre of topics because life does not have one genre. We have also had comedy and poetry segments. This will be an ongoing injection because EVERYONE needs to life and enjoy the appreciation of lyrics in poetry form.

What’s next?
Some of the plans I have committed to the Lord for His timing and unfolding is taking Chilln with Purpose to an even greater level. It is a great hope to be a monetization broadcast. I strongly believe we are making an impact in the lives of those who view us. We are currently in the process of tightening up the business side of things and as we have the financial opportunity, purchasing the necessary equipment we need to bring a better viewing experience to the audience. I am currently in the process of planning an awesome marriage summit scheduled for October 2021. It will be a refreshing and intentional weekend designed to educate, transform, heal, restore and have a great time! I also look forward to enjoying life more. I had an extreme life altering experience at the end of 2012 and what was designed to destroy me was used as fuel for a good comeback. The comeback is happening almost nine years later and I have every intention of seizing the moment!!!
