Conversations with Christina Packard

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Packard

Hi Christina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Made Mindful was founded by three moms who are passionate about the magnificence of birth and the total transformation that takes place as parents. As we have embarked on these journeys, our sisterhood has been an invaluable source of strength; but not every new mother has support. We have created a place for new and experienced moms to journey together.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like any small business, the journey has had its fair share of challenges. When I first started, there was a steep learning curve—figuring out the best tools, materials, and processes to create high-quality products efficiently. There were also moments of trial and error, especially when it came to pricing, social media and creating a following.

Beyond the technical side, running a small business means wearing many hats—marketing, customer service, production, and logistics—all while juggling personal and family life. There were times when life happened.

Another major learning experience has been navigating the business side of things: setting up an online presence, handling taxes, and understanding what works best for growth. But despite the hurdles, each challenge has helped me refine my skills, streamline my workflow, and build a stronger foundation for the business.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My main role is caring for six children and 16 other mouths to feed – including chickens, sugar gliders, tortoise, rabbit and our family dog. My family is my purpose and my children are never far from reach. My french Speaking family resides in Colorado. Along with serving my community, gardening, embroidery, and playing the piano and trumpet, I finds thrills in anything craft related.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
As a mom of six, the COVID-19 crisis reinforced just how important adaptability and resilience are—not just for me, but for my entire family. When everything shut down, we had to quickly adjust to new routines, remote learning, and the constant presence of everyone at home. It wasn’t always easy, but it taught me to embrace flexibility, let go of perfection, and find joy in the little moments.

One of the biggest lessons was recognizing the true value of time together. With all the usual activities and commitments suddenly gone, we had the rare opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and create memories in ways we hadn’t before. It reminded me that sometimes, less is more, and that a simple game night or a backyard picnic can be just as meaningful as a big event.

I also learned how crucial it is to extend grace—to myself, my kids, and others. The pandemic brought a lot of stress and uncertainty, and there were moments when we all struggled. But through it, I realized the importance of focusing on what really matters: our health, our relationships, and the ability to support each other through tough times.
