Conversations with Kieshon Davis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kieshon Davis.

Kieshon, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
After giving birth during the beginning stages of Covid19, I created K’CreativeWorkshop, now VIP Event Planning & Coordination, to be my small hobby while I was a stay at home mom. Since then it has become a huge part of my life. It started out as light up flower mirrors and homemade organic skincare products, such as, bath bombs, moisturizers, & sugar and salt scrubs. My products offered people like me natural & affordable, quality skincare products for home use. Shortly after beginning my skincare line, I came up with my Craft Show events as a way to help boost my sales and get more exposure while helping shine a light on other small businesses. My first ever craft show was on September 19th of last year. We had so much fun that I decided to do it again. Since then I have hosted a craft show every single month unless there was a covid-19 shut down

When I started my business, it was only me with a dream. Now I am thankful for all the people who have supported and believed in my vision.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has never been easy and there are better days than others. My goal is to stay positive and keep going during hard times. My biggest obstacles so far are space and funding. I like to partner with nonprofits and other small businesses. Unfortunately, different activities and projects take a lot of money that we can’t always get from vendor fees. Having the finances to properly run an event can make or break the entire event. To solve this issue myself and Peaced Together Co. are looking for sponsors to help provide funding so that we can continue to supply our community with safe, fun events where the entire family can have fun.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I think people would say that I am known for my custom light-up flower mirrors and having great craft fair events. I am very proud of my events because when I started doing them almost a year ago, not a lot of people in my community were doing them. It was very hard to convince other businesses to participate. Now it’s so much easier since I can show people content from past events. I created a facebook group, VIP Event Planning Vendors Group, to highlight my events and to allow customers to be able to easily connect with past or present vendors. I have had lots of complications along the way and each time I have overcome them. I believe my growing passion and professionalism sets me apart from other businesses like mine.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Kahari, my son, makes me happier than anything in this whole world. He is my motivation and my inspiration. I wouldn’t be able to do any of the things I have accomplished without thinking of him.
