Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiara Jackson.

Hi Tiara, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
From a young age, I always knew I wanted to be my own boss, however I had no idea what that looked like. It’s funny as I think about now, growing up I wanted to be a US Supreme Court Justice and boy am I so far from that. I don’t even know what I was thinking – well yes I do…my mother always told us that we could be and do anything we wanted in life. As I got older, I found myself drawn to planning and decorating events. I always knew it was something I enjoyed doing and loved playing a part in the important moments of people’s lives. So I decided to start my own business because remember, I wanted to be my own boss. So on a dream and a prayer TJ Weddings, Events & Design was birthed.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Oh, no way! Of course not. Life has not always been easy, but I was raised by a strong independent mother, Who always instilled in the importance of hard work and never giving up on our dreams. She always taught us to pray, keep God first and allow Him to guide our path. Those fundamental basics and values have help me navigate through the difficult times in my life.
