Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Turecek.
Hi Amanda, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Thank you for having me! I’m Amanda, a therapist as well as the founder and owner of a group practice. I started RAFT Counseling with the vision of creating a supportive space where people feel seen and empowered. My early career in crisis response and community mental health highlighted the gaps in access to care, and also the immense weight placed on therapists working within those systems. That experience inspired me to build something different – a practice that is compassionate and community-focused for clients, and also supportive and sustainable for the clinicians who provide care. What began as just me in a small office has grown into a dedicated team offering individual, couples, family, and group therapy, all designed to make care both accessible and meaningful. At RAFT Counseling our mission is to partner with people living intentionally through authentic and accessible care.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like many small business owners, I’ve faced my share of challenges—navigating insurance contracts, building sustainable systems, and balancing growth while staying true to our values. At times, wearing the hats of therapist, administrator, marketer, and leader felt overwhelming, but the vision kept me grounded: that access to quality mental health care matters and that it’s possible to build a practice that sustains therapists too.
Each hurdle, from financial barriers to staffing transitions, became an opportunity to grow. Those lessons shaped RAFT Counseling into the resilient, intentional space it is today—where clients receive high-quality care rooted in trauma-informed, inclusive approaches, and therapists feel supported, valued, and connected in the work they do.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about RAFT Counseling?
RAFT Counseling is a group practice in Parker, Colorado, providing mental health therapy for individuals, couples, families, and teens. We specialize in supporting people through anxiety, depression, trauma, and addictions, using a variety of approaches – including EMDR – and offer care both in person and virtually across Colorado.
What sets us apart is our commitment to accessibility – we partner with Medicaid and several insurance providers, offer a sliding fee discount program, and provide flexible options that meet people where they are. I’m most proud that at RAFT Counseling, we’ve built a culture that is warm, authentic, and inclusive. Our team is a dedicated group of therapists who provide exceptional care and maintain a supportive culture that encourages collaboration and connection as we do this work together.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
This October, RAFT Counseling is launching Art Vibes, a new teen group centered on creativity, self-expression, and connection through art-based activities. It’s designed as a supportive space where teens can build confidence, manage stress, and feel a true sense of belonging. More broadly, we want people to know that therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating – it’s simply a place to be supported, gain clarity, and take steps toward the life you want to create. At RAFT Counseling, we’re committed to making quality care accessible and we would love to connect with you!
