Today we’d like to introduce you to Aubrey Houdeshell.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Back in 2019, I started this business as a side gig. Anybody who lives in the Denver metro area is no stranger to the fact that the cost of living here is quite expensive – and only continues to climb – and I was in a position where I needed a little more capital. I honestly started my business kind of on a whim. It was very much a “here goes nothing” moment.
Much to my surprise, I had an incredible response the first day, and my partner recognized that there was real potential in what I was doing, and pushed me to legitimize it as a business! The rest is sort of history – I followed his advice and haven’t looked back since. I ended up throwing myself fully into building out my brand/business and have enjoyed wonderful success over the past (almost) 3.5 years!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Yes and no. I think anything you dedicate yourself to comes with obstacles. Personally, before doing this, I had zero experience in business, marketing, and finance. In that sense, it’s been a steep learning curve. I continue to have to push myself in those areas all the time – certainly, more than any other aspect.
Any business owner will vouch for the fact that you end up wearing many hats when it’s something you’re doing for yourself. In my case, especially because I’m the only one! If I don’t take the personal ownership or responsibility to handle it, literally nobody else will or can.
We’ve been impressed with Graveyard Roses, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a Tarot Reader and Astrologer. I specialize in a branch known as Evolutionary Astrology, which looks very much into past lives, karma, and personal evolution. I also specialize in something known as Sextrology, which focuses on love, pleasure, sex, intimacy, and empowerment in these areas.
It’s a branch of astrology that very rarely gets explicit attention or focus, but something that I both think is incredibly important and fun. It’s also a niche I’ve positioned myself in that makes me different from a lot of other astrologers out there, which is a nice way to stand out in a moment where astrology is trendy and the market is oversaturated.
What matters most to you? Why?
Kindness, compassion, empathy, honesty, community, and integrity. Without them, we have nothing.
