Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Berggren.
Hi Elizabeth, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I grew up watching both of my parents work from home and build a successful global organization. I was even brought home from the hospital in a pink Cadillac and had the privilege of meeting Mary Kay Ash multiple times. I told my mom that I wanted to be a top leader in the company just like her when I grew up.
Fast forward 15 years- I moved down to south Florida and began esthetician school. What started as a personal journey to help my acne turned into a passion for helping others with their skin. I learned how to clear my acne, and with my healthy skin, my self-confidence grew more and more. After working in several different spas, I decided I wanted to work for myself and build my own business. I fell in love with teaching skincare and make-up instead of only providing a facial or make-over service for them. Every time I taught a skin care class everyone felt beautiful and empowered. Still to this day, it is one of the many reasons I love what I get to do.
Right after starting my career, my mom was diagnosed with cancer, and I am so grateful I was able to take care of her until she passed away. I am honored to continue her legacy and make one of my own. To me, it is much more than a family business, it is a way of life.
The past 12 years of working with people from all different backgrounds, ethnicities, and religions have taught me so much. You never know what kind of an impact you can truly have in someone’s life. More than the money or cars or diamonds or trips or other fabulous prizes I have earned, it is the relationships I have built and the experiences I have had that are the most valuable to me. It is my belief that when women are empowered, we can do anything in this world we want to do.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely been a tough journey with many obstacles and also many blessings. Losing my mom right after starting my career was very challenging for me. She was my mentor, my best friend, and my inspiration. I found that when I was helping others I wasn’t focused on my problems and that still helps get me through hard times.
I am so grateful that with my business, I am able to make donations for cancer research that affects women and domestic violence victims. With my struggles came lessons that I am very thankful for and now looking back I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and are any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I learned so many valuable lessons from the Covid-19 pandemic. At first, it was almost paralyzing, not just for me but for my clients too. Everyone was scared and it was difficult to know the right words to say without having gone through this before. I learned that when I reach out to my clients, they appreciate how much I care even without the perfect words, I learned that even through hard times, beauty is still important to your hygiene and mental health.
That when you wake up and put yourself together, you’ll feel better and have a more productive day. I also learned how to completely transition my business from working in person to working over face time or via Zoom. I took everything I knew and did it virtually. Then I took classes online on how to improve certain things like my office systems and working my business through social media, which I might not have done if it wasn’t for the pandemic. Now I have the best of both worlds as we enter into a new ‘normal’ and can offer my services in whichever capacity best serves my clients. It was interesting matching foundation through the front door or car windows and delivering toilet paper with their orders, but we figured it out together and we can have a laugh about it now.
