Hidden Gems: Meet Jodi Allen and Jennifer Adams of The Frame Shop Lafayette

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jodi Allen and Jennifer Adams.

Hi Jodi and Jennifer, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Jenn and I bought our Custom Picture Frame Shop in October of 2018. We have worked in retail for many years and wanted a better way to support our girls and ourselves while doing something we love. We both love Art and had been framing for many years when we decided to buy our shop.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
About a year and a half after we bought the shop Covid hit and we were shut down for a few months. That was super scary! When we re-opened, we have steadily gotten busier and busier to the point that we are looking to hire people because we have more orders than we can handle. We are crazy busy!!!!

We’ve been impressed with The Frame Shop Lafayette, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We offer Custom picture framing. We build everything ourselves in our shop for every customer. We like to have fun and have interesting designs. We have over 1500 different moldings to choose from.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
We love getting funky projects! We have framed guitars, puzzles, megalodon teeth, and right now, we are working on a piece of the Berlin wall. Every day you never know what project is going to come through our door. We love it!
