Inspiring Conversations with Aaron Tochini of Emerald Ave Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Tochini.

Hi Aaron, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was raised in the small river town of Vidalia, Louisiana. From a very young age, I realized how hard the two women who raised me worked, not just to provide for us, but to be of service to others. My Grandmother waited tables for nearly 45 years, mostly at a local steak and seafood restaurant on the Mississippi River. My Mother worked admin in the emergency room and then drove an ambulance across multiple towns in the state.

After graduating high school I went to Louisiana Tech University where I decided to apply to the Disney College Program. After a long interview process I was accepted! I received the news that I would spend my second year of university living and working at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.

I decided to leave small town Louisiana and move to California. This decision brought many amazing opportunities to meet and work with so many people from many different places and, ultimately, allowed me to meet my now business partner, Brittany.

My commitment and passion for a career in hospitality only multiplied. So, I decided to change my degree from music education to business management. I continued to wait tables, bartend, and work event gigs when not in class.

My Grandmother passed away before my college graduation and my Mom had remarried and moved to Texas. I knew, at that point, there was nothing keeping me in Louisiana. I wanted to see and experience more. So, I packed my bags and headed to Orlando to work at Walt Disney World. During my three year tenure, I met my husband and business partner, Caio.

We got married in 2017 and packed up our car to move to Nashville where Brittany was living. I began working at the Omni Nashville Hotel before transitioning into an event planning role at an association. In 2020, we had the opportunity to move to Colorado. Caio and I just celebrated 9 years of marriage and are now living the city life and it truly feels like home!

Denver is the perfect place for us to focus on building community, events, and experiences through Emerald Ave Productions.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I am blessed with a natural ability to always look for the lesson in the struggle. The biggest obstacles I’ve overcome are the internal ones. It can be scary to be seen for who you actually are and to share what things make you happy. But, I’ve learned the more authentic I am, the more the right opportunities come my way. I am always learning to become more confident in my self. After working in this industry for many years, I feel more aligned with my purpose than ever before. I want to continue to be authentic, to overcome, and to learn. I will never stop pushing myself to be the best I can be.

How do you think about happiness?
For me, I find happiness in things like a message from a friend I haven’t spoken to in a while; Drag Race and Survivor watch parties with friends; traveling to new places and pretending to live there as the locals do; eating anything my husband, Caio, cooks or bakes; sharing meaningful music with others; crafting; creating; and chatting endlessly with others about what makes them light up and joyful!
