Inspiring Conversations with Natalie and Anthony Pigliacampo of Gloss Auto Wash

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie and Anthony Pigliacampo.

Hi Natalie and Anthony, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In 2020, the only full-service car wash in Boulder closed up shop. My husband and I are always on the lookout for small business investments, and the opportunity to reimagine a car wash was a dream of ours for some time. Inspired by a love of beautiful cars, quality coffee and enriching the local community, we opened Gloss Auto Wash and Cafe in August 2020.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The original carwash closed because of Covid. Straight away, we had to contend with people not driving to work or school and having no real need to wash their cars. Also, the previous carwash had quite a legacy in the Boulder community, and most people didn’t realize the carwash had opened under a new name and owner.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We believe in the importance of small businesses in our community. An experience as mundane as washing your car can be an enjoyable part of your day, like coming into a clean home. In addition to a car wash, we offer a full range of detailing services to keep your car in its best condition. We also have unique services for Tesla, Rivan and other EV brands. We strive to be the most environmentally friendly car wash and offer thriving wage jobs.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
We could not have done this without our operating partner Peter Stewart. He signed on from the beginning to run the day-to-day operations and management of the car wash and detail studio. Reopening any business is no small feat. He was able to figure out the ins and outs of the carwash, rehire and retain former longtime employees of the car wash, and clean up the space in an impossible time frame during a global pandemic.
