Life and Work with Allie Fiore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Allie Fiore.

Allie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I had been building up a network of artists, other music entrepreneurs and young professionals in the Denver Area for a little over a year before starting Muse Management. I had been helping one of my best friends build relationships with other hip hop artists in the city since she moved here to pursue music full time. I have a degree in Event Planning and Marketing as well so this business was also putting a name to all of the work I do. In the end, it gave me a new level of confidence that helped me out of my comfort zone.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Everything leading up to where I am today was one of the toughest yet most rewarding journeys of my life. One of my best friends always pushes me to get out of my comfort zone – this is definitely one of them. I would say one of the biggest struggles has been just doing it all on my own. I have tons of support and tons of people on my side, but at the end of the day, I’ve got to put in the work to make it successful. For other women, I would tell them to surround themselves with like-minded individuals. I’m so incredibly thankful for the people, specifically the women, that I surround myself with.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Muse Management – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Muse Management is an all-encompassing artist management and events business. I specialize in Hip Hop and R&B but am extremely interested in branching out into other genres. I would say that one of the things I’m most proud of and most thankful for, is being able to bring people together to meet a common goal – support local artists. In early June, I put together my first Hip Hop Showcase of local artists. I was completely blown away by how many people came to not only support me but support the artists. I feel like the fact that I am a woman in a male-dominated industry is what sets me apart. It’s something that I’m proud of as well.

Do you think there are structural or other barriers impeding the emergence of more female leaders?
One of the biggest barriers that women face, I would say in most industries, is that they are not always taken seriously. I know that when I’m communicating with others on my business page on Instagram, people are sometimes taken back by the fact that a woman is on the other end talking with them. I would say that in the music industry, women are paving their own paths to success, so the dynamic is definitely changing. I am also planning a Women in Business event this August that will allow women from all industries to network with one another. It will allow for the conversation to grow and thrive.
