Life and Work with Amy P

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy.

Amy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
After graduating with a Business degree at the University of Colorado Denver, I realized that what I really wanted to do was design. I then pursued a degree in Interior Design.

It was lots of fun and I learned a lot of tricks which helped me sharpen my skills through design education. I wanted to help all homeowners, from local, national and internationally, from Gen-X to Millennials. I wanted to help them create beautiful, yet functional spaces.

To stay ahead of the trends, I travel to design trade shows collecting new ideas, inspirations and connecting with different cultures.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Starting on my own wasn’t easy. Having too many competitors in design was overwhelming and getting myself out there was a big challenge for me.

My advice for other women who are just starting is to follow their passion and just do it. You must keep learning, expanding, and just keep moving forward. I’ve learned that success doesn’t come overnight. It’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon.

Published in and recognized by 5280 Home Magazine.

Who have you been inspired by?
Oprah Winfrey have inspired me as she is a strong-willed woman. I remembered reading ‘O, The Oprah Magazine’ back in college. “You become what you believe, not what you think or what you want” is a quote that I have stood by. She continues to be passionate about everything she does and it is always reflected in everything she does. There is a lot to learn from her.
