Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Hutton-Hall, JD.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Angela. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. My story begins in the West City Park neighborhood of Whittier. From the time of my elementary school days, I was always a curious and adventurous person. I aspired to see the world and what was awaiting my discovery beyond my neighborhood, city and state. I always dreamed of becoming the type of person that would inspire others, make an impact on their lives, and leave a lasting legacy. My first dream was to become an attorney at law. The old TV show “Perry Mason” had a great impact on my life. My goal was not necessarily to be in the courtroom but to obtain my degree to find other paths in life to make a contribution to the profession and to the others. I received my law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 1988 after a successful and wonderful college experience at Clark-Atlanta University and Richmond College in London, England.
After law school, my first job was in the insurance industry where I became a litigation manager in the Environmental Law area. I was intrigued by the Environmental Law arena as it transcends into so many areas of our lives. I worked in that industry for more than ten years between two different companies and two government agencies. It was an eye-opening experience that I will never forget and will continue to explore even as I work in other professions.
As I began to look at how to further impact the lives of people and to determine how to leave a legacy, I switched careers to real estate. As a child we moved at various times and my parents were never able to purchase a home. I was determined to change the generational footprint of my family and others as I stepped into what I consider more than a career, it is my ministry. I am driven to assist families to find affordable properties to begin the process of building generational wealth. Everyday I seek to discover new and innovative paths to pursue that will provide an opportunity for a family to own their first home. The amazing impact that owning a home can have on families and communities is immeasurable. It provides stability for families as well as communities. My goal as a Realtor expands beyond helping families, I want to leave a legacy of helping families, building sustainable communities, and creating neighborhoods that thrive in all areas.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road. Some of the struggles I have faced along the way include lack of education and awareness with the people I work with in real estate. As a Realtor, you must strive to learn as much as possible to be a great asset and service your clients to the best of your abilities. If you are not aware of the laws and rules that affect the profession, you are not operating at your best. My advice for other women and particularly young women is to always do your best, yet go beyond and ensure that you are learning as much as you can about your chosen field. You will undoubtedly rise above the norm and you will be recognized as a model professional in your career.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
As the Managing Broker of City Park Realty, I have had the distinct pleasure and honor to assist new real estate brokers in the industry. We specialize in assisting buyers, sellers, and investors in residential and commercial properties. The real estate industry is very challenging and competitive. We are proud of our brand as a small boutique real estate firm that “gets the job done.” We are set apart from the larger firms as we are able to provide the individual, hands-on experience and walk our clients through each step in the process from contracting to closing. We have been successful in the residential and commercial real estate areas.
Who have you been inspired by?
I am most inspired by my mother Lillie B. Hutton. She has shown me what it means to persevere in the face of adversity. She is the mother of 8 children and had all of her children by the age of 35. She did not finish high school in her small town of Macon, Georgia. However, while I was enrolled in Law School, she was truly inspired and began to work on her GED. She finished the courses successfully and graduated in 1987, one year before my law school graduation. The amazing and wonderful part of her graduation was that it was held at my former high school, Denver East High School. It was a true testament of my mother’s strength, tenacity, character and perseverance. I admire her and emulate her style of leadership as a mother which I now incorporate with my own children and grandchildren. Now that I am a mother of 4 and a grandmother of 9, I realize my endurance, love, caring and concern for others is inherited from my mother.
My mother is and always will be my hero and greatest inspiration!
