Today we’d like to introduce you to Claire Ewing.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Claire. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Connection is my main value.
A little outside the box of a typical “Denver” story – but thought this would be a beautiful one to share about how the Denver market was my jump off point for a beautiful journey that have led us to the mountains right outside of Vail.
I have always been a connector – through fitness and branding. The last five years I have been a senior instructor at CorePower Yoga teaching over 1000 classes and a National Marketing Manager for the brand. It was an incredibly powerful experience – I got to travel and open over 50 studios across the nation, create brand partnerships with REI and market the largest national boutique fitness brand there was to date. It led me to become a lululemon ambassador and travel all over for lululemon the last two years.
But there was always something missing.
My husband and I are lovers of the great outdoors, and I have always thought what if? What if I created my own business and I was the bad ass mountain Mama I always envisioned.
In October of 2019 we decide to jump and do it. We quit our jobs, sold our house and moved our two year old to the mountains. I started my own business – Claire Ewing, Get Your Brand and Body Fit.
I have started with two female based clients here in the mountains as my first clients, and I am starting to teach and create my own yoga and fitness events in the market.
I want to share how Denver, CorePower Yoga and the market jumpstarted where I am today. It’s scary and real to make a leap – and I want to have people believe in their dreams.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Oh gosh, no.
We have talked about moving to the mountains since my husband and I met eight years ago. It was always a what if and nah, it’s not going to happen. We decided in October of last year that faith over fear was going to win. We wanted our lives to be in the mountains and we made the leap.
We knew that we could overcome that because we have overcome so much together. My husband and I went through a powerfully painful fertility journey to have our sweet daughter Blake in 2018 finally. After two years of fertility medications, doctor appointments and a whole lot of hope – she came. On Valentine’s Day of 2018 she was born and I was forever changed. I am in the midst of starting an infertility awareness group for women in the mountains and virtually through my site to remind people they are not alone.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
YES! I love this:
– I specialize in getting your brand and body fit.
– Brand Fit: I have ten years of marketing experience from PR, event marketing to social media. I planned large scale events like Yoga on the Rocks to running your Instagram posts behind the scenes. I am helping support small to medium businesses here in the valley with all sorts of marketing needs on the hourly and monthly retainer basis.
– Body Fit: I am a 6+ year yoga and fitness instructor. I specialize in teaching power yoga and yoga sculpt. I am also a long distance runner and training for my 5th marathon right now 🙂 This is more than your physical body, but how movement is healing for your mental and emotional state.
I believe that getting your brand right (who you truly authentically are) and getting your body right (feeling powerfully confident in who you are) leads to the unlock of success.
Were there people and/or experiences you had in your childhood that you feel laid the foundation for your success?
I came from a broken home, going through a pretty traumatic and awful divorce of my parents. I became the adult and caregiver to my sister and our family at a very young age – I wouldn’t change it. It makes me exactly who I am and a realization that the human spirit is resilient and strong.
I learned from a very young age that moving my body was therapy and healing. I became a ballerina in 5th grade which was my healing through my parent’s divorce and through my father’s diagnosis with Bipolar and schizophrenia. I realized how important moving was for my physical body – but more my mind.
