Today we’d like to introduce you to Hollee Gold.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Hollee. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It is my hope to help you find wealth and freedom from investing in real estate, whether that be selling your home, purchasing, or investing for your future retirement or a child’s education. Realizing the power of owning one of the most valuable assets we can. I would be Honored to help!
I am a Colorado native, a mother of two great children, and a Realtor!
I enjoy time with my family and friends as well as my dogs! I love all that Colorado has to offer!
I come from a family of Real Estate professionals, starting with my grandmother, who owned a successful brokerage on the western slope of Colorado, my father, a top listing agent in the Denver area in the 70ies, going on to develop various commercial projects across the country, and my mother, an award-winning Interior Designer, who later went on to be instrumental in some of Denver’s first redevelopment in Five points.
While in college, I worked with my mother on several different projects.
After I graduated, I chose a career in Real Estate. It seemed very logical with my family background!
I left Real Estate to raise my family once I had married and then had four children! Since I have come back, there have been many times I have wished had never left, not because I didn’t love my children, and didn’t love what I was doing with them, but because I really love real estate and helping people with the intricacies. In a career you can see your accomplishments and achievements, you receive a reward. This isn’t the always case when raising children. We get rewarded many times in many ways, others times, it’s a thankless job, it’s not a regret, just something I’ve been observing as of late.
I think it is because I divorced, of course, this wasn’t my plan when I married, but Life happens. I always try to reflect, We always have the option to continue to grow and change changing if we choose to be self aware.
A divorce, a broken family, and my children both being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease has made for some challenging days, weeks, months and years, I love John Lennon’s quote: “life is what happens to you when you are busy making other plans,” oh so true.
WE as women have a lot of responsibility to our families, our communities and to ourselves. What I have learned and would pass on to others… be curious, explore, and enjoy life while finding your passion and know it may change many times over, stay childlike and be open to the possibilities, don’t take things too seriously, nothing last forever! Embrace and love along the way, “this too shall pass” and each experience leads to the next, all where we are supposed to be.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of. What sets you apart from others?
I love Real Estate, my mother was an interior designer, I got to see some pretty amazing homes. My father was a broker, I got to see him put deals together, this intrigued me I was drawn to it, maybe because I had been around it in one way or another since I can remember
the things I love! about what I do: to take a family, a person, a couple into a home and to help them see the possibilities. I also get excited as I explain this is an investment and a home, … A savings account, paying your own mortgage instead of someone else’s. I often explain a purchased rental today can be a child’s’ education in the future, or additional income once retired!
I love to help people move up or down by taking them through the process of selling their home, which can be very emotional for many. And then, to help them to move on to the larger home because they need more room for their growing family, or a smaller home because it’s time… it’s all a process and I’m honored to be a part of people’s life changes, sometimes these changes are difficult and not exciting, but rather overwhelming. Other times the process can be quite exciting and joy filled!
I see this some of the harder times with families that are in the midst of Probate when someone has passed away and their estate has to be settled. It’s overwhelming and emotional, I help with the process in more ways than just the real estate, preparing the home for the sale is important, but I also work with other professionals that I am able to connect my clients with so that they are not as overwhelmed, this is rewarding.
I have worked with first time home buyers, high-end sellers/buyers/new home sales, physicians purchasing a home with a specific loan every day, every client, every deal is different, I love it!
There’s a wealth of academic research that suggests that a lack of mentors and networking opportunities for women has materially affected the number of women in leadership roles. Smart organizations and industry leaders are working to change this, but in the meantime, do you have any advice for finding a mentor and building a network?
I think networking is GREAT! What I have found is that this is a place where I get to be social and have fun, meet new friends, I never think of it as a way to get business. It is my hope that one day the friends I make will allow me the honor of assisting in their real estate needs, but that isn’t on my mind as I am in meetings, meetup, and other networking events.
I have met some great professionals that I do send business to, Insurance, agents, lenders, house cleaners, etc…
Most of my networking is with other women, entrepreneurs, business persons, and some just good old fun like a bunko group or playing golf. I also participate in a lot of continuing ed, much more than required, because I love to learn and there is always more to learn. My knowledge helps me serve my clients to a higher degree and standard. I also go to real estate meetups, where there are speakers that I learn from and I network with other real estate professionals (it’s always nice to do a deal with a broker that I know, and nice to meet new ones as well).
As for mentors, my mentors have been my parents, and without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today! They have helped me professionally and personally in so many ways. As for hiring a mentor, yessss. I’m going to! I never have but have been thinking about it lately because I keep hearing such good things and recently have had an interaction with a broker that I am so impressed with, his knowledge as well as his passion with being of service to others… and in turn, reaping benefits emotionally, spiritually and financially, We become inspired, we learn and grow with the help of others, what more can we ask for.
I have had other mentors, just not formally, I haven’t been drawn to it until now and I’m excited to see how better I will become, as a person and a Realtor.
