Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Fruchtman.

Katie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Hi everyone! With 10+ years of experience in interior and a B.A. in Interior Design, I’ve dedicated most of my career to the world of design. I currently design in the residential field renovating homes all over the metro Denver area.

The interior environment plays a vital role in how we act and respond to our lives. Through thoughtful design, I create livable spaces that cater to and reflect each client’s unique style. My company, Pretty Life Designs is a fun and creative company focused on your interior design needs. Our goal is to make “everyday pretty”: an aesthetic that creates beauty, joy and comfort integrated into functional everyday living and budget.

My husband and I also founded on our own company, Hello Home. We are a Denver based real estate and interior design company. We make the buying, selling or remodeling process as easy, streamlined and fun as possible, no gimmicks here! Want to know where the best schools are? Done. How do you renovate for a growing family? Has it been a smooth road?
Any road to success is never smooth! I have experienced many ups and downs in my career. Through this process, I’ve learned what is important to focus on what I need to let go. My faith in Jesus has played the most important role in both my personal and professional life. Some take-aways that I cling to are these:

Hard work and consistency always produce positive results.
Be humble and respectful, no one responds well to nastiness.
If you’re not enjoying your work, re-evaluate and see if this is what you still love or if you just need an attitude adjustment.
PRAY, PRAY, PRAY. Prayer has always been a constant for me that helps me to see the pros and cons of any situation.
Life is meant to be purposeful. Are you making a positive difference with your work?
Support one another, even if you disagree on things. Solutions come from working together not against each other.

I feel very lucky to have a long-spanning career in Interior Design. I’ve been able to continue my career and learn and try new things along the way.

I specialize in residential design. I take rooms, spaces, whole houses and turn them into a curated, beautiful, functional space that reflects my client’s style. I also design spaces that are budget-friendly specific to each client.
I pride my business on transparency and customer service. Yes, I design beautiful spaces that are unique and modern but the real success to a business relationship (or any relationship for that matter) is communication. I have found that when I am able to listen and really understand my client’s needs, concerns, wants: that always leads to the best results.

Often it feels as if the media, by and large, is only focused on the obstacles faced by women, but we feel it’s important to also look for the opportunities. In your view, are there opportunities that you see that women are particularly well-positioned for?
Women are humans with minds, bodies and hearts. We offer so much to this world and should pursue our goals, and support one another in the process.
