Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristy Auli.
Kristy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I wanted to create a place where women could feel free to explore and embrace their sexuality and use of cannabis.
Most of my life was pretty traditional. I grew up in a pretty conservative family in Texas. I moved to Colorado in 2014 and fell in love with Denver’s eclectic and expressive culture. I have a background in marketing, design, and events and for 10 years worked a 9 am – 5 pm, creating someone else’s vision.
Nothing before this point matters. It was boring, I was most unsure of who I was as a woman – and I learned a lot about what I didn’t want.
At one point – I just wanted to make a change in my life. Living the way life was taught to me, to how I actually want to live my life – were two very different things. I wanted a sexier, more fun, more fulfilled life. I was transitioning out of relationships and jobs at the time, when I hopped in the car to Las Vegas and joined a team of go-go dancers for an event they were performing at in Las Vegas.
This party was like nothing I had ever seen before. It was so sexy. So erotic. I had stepped in as a last-minute car and assistant to get the team to Vegas. Just helping the dancers get ready, organized and moved for the event. But, I couldn’t stop staring. Everyone was so beautiful, naked and free. I wanted to be more like this.
To be clear – these were sex parties – or fetish parties. I started joining the go-gos at more of their sexy parties, and eventually met the man hosting these sexy shindigs. He asked me if I would be interested in helping him with these shindigs – and I did. Menage Life hosts some of the largest sex-positive lifestyle retreats across the country.
The Fox Den was something that was created when I wanted a place for myself to share my stories and experiences navigating the sex industry with other like-minded women. I wanted a place where women working in the industry could come together and support each other, find leads, and just get support working in an industry or living a lifestyle that sometimes comes with stigmas.
I’m just having sex. I’m just smoking pot. There isn’t anything shameful or wrong about those things.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Dancing to the beat of your own drum sometimes looks silly to others – but if you’re having fun, why not?
I have had to face a lot of criticism and concern from people who don’t understand what it is exactly I’m in to or doing. I don’t spend a lot of time trying to change other peoples mind. You can either join me or don’t – but I’m doing what is best for me.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with The Fox Den – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I manage sponsorships and product placement at some of the sexiest events across the country. I look for brands, services and educators to bring to events, parties and publications. I am also a designer, photographer, writer and in sales for a couple of different cannabis and sexual wellness brands in Colorado and Las Vegas.
I love my work in the sex-positive community. Being with people that share love at its most intimate level has helped me connect so much more in my own personal and professional relationships.
The Fox Den is a women-centric brand for women to explore sex and cannabis. The Fox Den started with my best friend as a place where we could just hang out, talk about our journey in the sex and cannabis industry and learn about different products to improve our sex lives or the way we smoke. We wanted to meet and connect with other women that shared our lifestyle – and set up opportunities for girls similar to mix, mingle and meet.
We throw your most ultimate girls nights. Clothing swaps, lingerie smoking parties, consumption dinner parties… we’re just looking to take a few hours to hang with the girls. We also have a website and blog that highlight some of our favorite products and topics as women living a consumption friendly, sex-positive lifestyle.
What advice would you give to someone at the start of her career?
Be yourself, 100% – authentically, truly you. If that’s all you are – it’s hard to let anything else get to you.
